***OFFICIAL GET BESPOKE WORKING THREAD***

Alright so I'm determined to get our Bespoke units/app to get going and be more compatible with other devices as well as actually work like a Toyota supported product should. It's a long shot, but if we get enough people to say something, maybe something will be done. I wholeheartedly believe that if Toyota is going to allow a product in their car, it should not have the problems or incompatibility that these units have. It is an $850 unit that should have navigation abilities and have more compatible devices. If we could get the smartphone app to be able to have a navigation feature and just become a better all around app, I feel like they would sell more. If you do contact any of these links that I am providing, make sure you say how people who order these are taking them off and they can't find a buyer when they try to sell them for $200. It's a joke that they don't offer a better unit or at least a firmware update of some type.

Here is the Scion.com contact email where you can send suggestions.
http://scion.custhelp.com/app/ask

The Bespoke app developer's LinkedIn page. Contact the crap out of her.
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/christin.../b2?_mSplash=1

There is a Scion support phone line that works for reporting any issue of actual non-compliance with the BeSpoke's specs.

If anyone has any other ways of contact, post them up and I will put them in my OP. I feel if enough people complain about how they expect more out of a Toyota supported product, we could possibly get a much better unit and app. Go!

the trick is to deny any add-ons from the dealer, like 850$ for a HU? i can get an aftermarket one that makes cookies with that price..

good luck though!

I told my dealer to delete that option. I'm currently looking into aftermarket Pioneer units that look nicer and seem to have better functionality for less money...

Angry Overlapping Threads

Hey guys -

I don't know how many of us have noticed, but there are several threads here with almost the same goal, including this one a tad misplaced in the For Sale section:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24489

There is a Scion support phone line listed in that thread (866-707-2466) that works for reporting any issue of actual non-compliance with the BeSpoke's specs. The OP suggests using his complaint record number, but that was not accepted by the guy I talked with. It's more likely, I think, that they will issue you a new number, with a format like 13022201 (two digits each for year, month, day and sequence?). I do think it's a good idea to put as many of our customer complaint inputs as possible on record.

UPDATE ON MY PROBLEM: I had a useful - even if ultimately maybe not really very helpful - session yesterday with a very professional and impressively thorough service rep at a local dealer. We tried my phone (Samsung SGH-T679) with a new FR-S, verifying that it would not accept a Contacts list transfer either. There's now another 'complaint' in Toyota's system from that direction as well, at least. I'd like to hope that some of the dissatisfaction with our BeSpoke audio systems can be corrected by something as simple as a firmware update. If enough buyers make enough noise we may get Toyota or Pioneer motivated to do something, anyway...

I just posted this, http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...360#post747360 yesterday. There's a website and the app's developers page on there to contact.

The best way to contact them is with your wallet, or lack thereof.

It's a good idea to have the Bespoke available for this car, all I want is a firmware update to the head unit and for the app to actually benefit the system.

BeSpoke needs to be ditched and replace with a stand alone that doesn't have to rely on another device to get the job done.

Hey all I just read through all 4 pages of the discussion of the BeSpoke likes and hates and Shadowfax comments. I got my FR-S nearly 2 weeks ago, still in the break-in, and did order the BeSpoke, knowing that it has some short comings. They have not installed it yet, they said they have to wait for the loan to complete before adding any other options. So I had some questions, rapid fire style. I have a Windows Phone 8.

1. They change the antenna?

2. How long does the install take? Can I wait for it at the dealer?

3. Does the BeSpoke have the exact same functionality as the default HU? Like MP3's from USB drive, analog aux input, HD Radio, Bluetooth audio with track data?

4. To get the sub par Nav, can you use an iPod Touch connected to WiFi (from like a phone hotspot)?

5. Do regular iPod/iPhone features (music/podcasts) work on an iPhone 5 with lightening or is Bluetooth the only option?

6. Can I demand to keep the old HU? Has anyone managed to get their dealer to let them keep the original HU?

7. I head you could replace the power on logo with your own picture. Is this true? Anyone does this?

8. Would it be too late to cancel getting the BeSpoke and not be charged for it?

Thanks all,

- J

on the iphone 5 question, i use my iphone 5 hooked up to the aux port to listen to music all the time.

antenna is the same as far as i know. just a direct HU swap. honestly, it shouldnt take more than 20 mins to change out the radio if that.

You mean AUX USB or stereo jack?
