Tein Street Flex suspension issue (lowering itself over time)

I have an issue with my suspension. I've had it installed for 6 months. Twice already (let's say 3 month interval between checks), the suspension has lowered itself.

I have tightened the lower ring with all the force I could, having friends help. I've held the two upper rings with the other spanner wrench to tighten the lower ring even more without them moving.

It seems simple enough, and I don't see anyone else having that problem. It happens on both fronts.

You using a flathead screwdriver and a hammer to tighten down the lower collar? That could be your problem.

Edit: could be your problem if you aren't using that method to tighten

I did the second time, still happened. The lower collar itself was super tight and almost impossible to get it off today, but that did not prevent the suspension from lowering itself all the way to the bottom.

Interesting. Only other thing I could think of it being is the top collars then. Is your preload set correctly? I know that seems obvious too, but I know for me, the solution is more often than not in the blindingly simple/obvious thing.

Either way, I'll be watching this thread to see what the problem ends up being. Good luck with finding the cause.

take them off and just sell it to some stance guy and say "it just keeps going lower and lower by itself!"

I have never moved the preload, as they are supposed to come where they should be from stock, and should not be moved unless you want to tinker with them...

I hope someone of the suspension experts can come in with an easy problem/solution.

Not super clean but not particularly dirty. The car has seen rain maybe three times on the six months. I do feel dirt in between the bottom ring washer and the bottom mount. So clean them up good in the contact surfaces?

Just to be safe.

Also, get a paint pen, and draw a line that goes over the threads, over the rings, and onto the threads on the other side, so you can get a visual reference of if and how much they move.

You shouldn't be using that, you should be using the keys it came with, if you lost them buy a set their cheap

Except for the fact that companies such as Fortune Auto recommend this to be done when installing.

I would say nice and firm. You don't want to damage them. Use the provided tools; putting your weight on it should be plenty tight.
