The thin ass tires from the factory. Not that is needs wider tires but these tires just kill the rear view of the car.

You can put anything you want in your BRZ's trunk. Just not the FOB she cries like there was no lube. Just start up anyway if the FOB is in the car!

Hi,

Mine's a 2016, and occasionally has a weird smell (burning clutch?) when I get up above 40 or so. Doesn't matter the gear. I've read on Reddit that this is a normal FR-S thing, but how long does it last & how much does it cost to remedy? We're only talking a 28000 mile car here.

Thanks - enjoy - Michael

Okay, this is going to be a weird one.

But when I put my son, who is 3, into other people's cars he seems like he is a mile away from me while I'm driving.

In the 86, he's right behind me and I can pull things out of his mouth at a stop sign without having to move from my seat.

Also, he's really easy to get out of that back seat, easier than other 4 door vehicles. I wasn't really expecting this. Getting into the seat is a little more challenging though, if he's not cooperating.

Sounds like you may have to check your clutch's engagement point. There are plenty of threads here on how to check and adjust it.

Totally agree. When my son is still rear facing and he is close enough that he can lean his head forward a little and look over at me and smile.

As ol @ermax said, a burning clutch smell, while you are driving down the road, is NOT normal, in any vehicle.

I figure you are smelling something else. A burning clutch smells like a burning clutch - nothing else smells like that -

Maybe you have a small oil leak and it's dripping on the exhaust? -

Well, of course he's easy to get out, maybe he is scared and wants out real bad - Also, for the same reason, maybe he doesn't want to get into the back seat -

I've been putting my son in the front seat but front facing when I take him along now. He also does the smile thing too. He's 20, almost 21, now but it's pretty much the same thing.

Is the windshield washer spray nozzles not being able to spray the windshield a thing? Because mine typically only sputter out some foam anymore. Poor things look pathetic and my windshield stays dirty.

Any car can do this. Take a brush to the nozzles and see if that helps.

Michael, I have a 2015 FR-S and this same thing just got fixed. I had this smell at highway speeds after the car warmed up since 35,000 miles, reported it to the dealer several times, and got "NPF - no problem found". Finally at the 60,000 service, they had to lift the engine for a spark plug change which required pulling the front undertray. Guess what, a small oil leak on the passenger side valve cover would get blown on to the exhaust and create the smell you describe. While I paid $900+ for the total 60K service, the actual removal of the engine, pulling covers and replacing gaskets and seals was a recall item done under warranty.

The dealer gave me a brand new Corolla (105 miles) for 6 days and I have since put 1,000 smell-free miles on my FR-S.
