I don't see it. The FRS even in monospec outsold the BRZ almost 10 to 1. The fact that Scion is gone means nothing to the global market nor Toyota. It was just a badge on this car and never really was a "scion" anyway.
I get that they will do a transition year by sticking to monspec only for 2017 but bet we see a couple of versions moving forward.

That photo's name references the special series mentioned earlier - very attractive shade, although I'm still not sure yellow suits the car, need to see it in person. Was hoping for a mica or pearlescent yellow, though, for something more unique and upscale.

At least one trim level does. Or if you dig real deep you may find a disclaimer that says: Demonstration vehicle only actual car may vary.

It is about 10 posts up!

I personally never believe that stuff (even when it is right) until I see an official statement from the manufacturer anyway. Been burned to many times by clickbait.

The only upgrade from 2016-2017 that I actually want are those damn brembos. Almost everything else already has affordable and reliable options in the aftermarket.

Must be nice for some of y'all that consider Brembos affordable lol

I kind of want a new BRZ now lol

But then again, I know it's a loss and no point. I rather just upgrade the parts i want and it will be way cheaper.

Wider wheels in the PP as well (OK only by 1/2", but still an improvement). And that bigger HU display in the Limited is good news- finally a usable size.

The yellow is definitely for the special series car, look at that spoiler, no way that is standard:

That's my sentiments pretty sure I could get a Toyota version and place some similar but after market parts for less and get about the same performance as a BRZ performance package BRZ. Just a thought, im actually unsure about a BBk costing less than what ever option price theyll use we'll have to wait to see.
