I love my AP2.

I read/heard something just recently that you guys might enjoy: Professional racing drivers spend the first two years learning to be smooth with their steering inputs. They spend the rest of their careers striving to be smooth with their throttle inputs.

Now my BRZ has 1150 miles, so I've taken it past 4,000 rpm on several occasions. I do notice that dip in the power curve between 3,500 to 4,000 rpm but nothing too bad. I wasn't expecting anything like the kick in the pants like the STi past 4,000 rpm and it is exactly what I thought it would be. It is a very smooth power delivery and as long as I keep it above 5,000 rpm it doesn't feel all that slow. I do agree a turbo would actually disrupt the overall driving experience in a car like this. A set of lighter wheels such as RPF1's and 20-30 extra hp from exhaust & tuning would completely suffice for me.

I'm also happy to report that I'm averaging 32.4 mpg indicated right now and that is no B.S. I've filled up my car 3 times so far and I'm getting 31.9, 32.2 and 36.6 mpg from the last fill up when I drove on the scenic highway mostly with almost zero traffic. I know the topic of mpg doesn't belong in sports car forums but this is a huge improvement over my STi's 22-23 mpg average, and that is with a protune. This car is overall is much better daily driver and a GT car.

However if I was to have one car it will still be the STi... Here in Colorado, I need a car to carry my bikes or 4 pairs of skis loaded with friends at 10,000 ft and be able to go through mountain roads covered in snow. BRZ cannot touch STi in that environment. Everywhere else in dry though, BRZ hammers it.

Oh - and thanks for all the welcomes! Can't wait to put Gold RPF1's on my car for that white/gold Scooby look.

You MPG's will most likely drop once you stop babying it

Mine has less than 100 miles and I am getting about 20mpg (mostly city), but I am not babying it. This car loves the 5-6K range and really wakes up.

I hammer mine all the time and I haven't gotten less than 28 mpg yet
