Huh? The fix is in how they make/assemble the pump at the factory, not on your car.

I'm on my phone so I'm not looking at the actual brz tsb, must have misunderstood. I though it had something to do with the install as well as the part. Especially since people are have the sound come back. My bad.

I have this issue on my FR-S. Taking it in tomorrow to have the fuel pump replaced. I do have a question though; I have an Airaid Cold air intake installed, will that void my warranty?

It should not, but it's a a quick job to replace stock just in case

Any Canadians getting any luck with Toyota/Subaru about the TSB? I asked about it late last week and they told me they don't have it yet.

After a little bit of research, according to the FTC it looks like installing aftermarket parts will NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY, unless a problem in your vehicle was directly caused by improper installation of another part or the part being faulty. More info here.

That doesn't mean their lawyers won't try. Tale the 10 minutes to swap it out and avoid a possible headache. (assuming you have the stocker still of course)

Oh no, I still agree with you. Just a bit of fun fact for everyone out there

Careful with that. The intent/spirit/letter of the Magnuson-Moss is to permit non-OEM stuff produced to OEM specs w/o voiding the warranty. That is - non-OEM oil filters, body parts, wipers etc.
If the part is not done to OEM spec - they don't have to prove squat.

The law is not there to let you modify the car to non-OEM spec and expect warranty coverage. Now, dealers like to get paid (for warranty work), so if they can slip non-OEM parts past manufacturer controls - they could, if you're not a total douche to them.

So, all-in-all, it's best to ask your dealer in advance before modifying your car to figure-out how minor-mod-friendly they are and be nice to them. In your situation - I'd probably still bring it w/o taking off the intake, it's a minor mod on a non-turbo car.

Everyone at the dealership heard it too (with the hood even closed) but they said it wasn't loud enough to meet the Toyota TSB. I emailed Scion asking for a decibel level at the band of frequency the chirp was in so I could determine if it complied. Saying the one in the Toyota video provided to dealers with the TSB is louder isn't appropriate in my eyes, they need to physically define it with units of measure if they are going to be that picky.

Don't worry, I brought my car in for service with an already scheduled appointment, they take it then realize they don't have any oil filters! WTF! Then they lied to me about why they didn't have any in stock. It took 3 degrading lies to get to the truth, someone never replaced their inventory.

Has anyone had any luck getting the dealership to just give them the oil and filters they would use under the service provided with the 2 year scion boost the car was sold with? I requested that as I don't really want them touching my car, especially after I watched them put my lug nuts on with a impact gun and no torque stick.

They also lied to me and tried to tell me my warranty would be voided if I used non-OEM parts in the service myself. I then asked them to read the front page of their warranty book provided with my car that details the Magnuson–Moss act.

These dealers are out of control, I'm recording my conversations with them next time. Its super illegal to be a dealership and state stuff like that.
I'm switching to another dealership within the next 2 weeks. I recommend you do the same cause what there doing is
