Slave cylinder Help

Hey guys, I'm having squeaky noise from my slave cylinder every time I step on the clutch. Sounds like a dry hinge door opening, anyways.... I rolled down the rubber boot and sprayed it with some white lithium grease and it was gone!
After about 4 days it came back today -____-.

Is there any better solution for this instead of spraying it every week?

Can I take this to the dealer and have them replace it? I'm on 45k miles. 2013

Please help.

It's not the slave cylinder, it's the clutch fork hinge.

The sound went away for a while because you jiggled and moved it outside its normal throw. Moved a little bit of shit around on the pivot so it quit squeaking for a bit.

The grease you sprayed into the slave cyl won't hurt anything but didn't do anything either.

Maybe your issue is covered by the recent TSB?

It's not his TOB. It's the pivot. They'll ignore that because it's just an annoyance. It won't leave you stranded.

Just playing Devil's advocate here but, can't it be argued that metal-on-metal rubbing of the pivot in the socket will eventually cause the arm to fail, leaving you stranded? I have that squeak but have been too lazy to do anything about except wonder if the arm is going fail sooner rather than later...

It could but it would take many more years of cycles for it to fail in that particular way.

Of more immediate concern is breakdown of the lubricant between the TOB and the transmisson front cover. The TOB starts to bind on the guide making it possible to destroy the fork simply by stepping on the clutch. Be very careful if you feel the slightest bit of tightness anywhere in the throw of the pedal. I took mine apart and cleaned it for that very reason. I'll drop my transmission to inspect it again this summer but I don't know what the long term answer is.

I took out my clutch pedal spring adjusted the height of the pedal to be a little lower than the brake pedal, and cracked open the clutch slave screw twice to try to gravity bleed it (this may have been a mistake).

I have since noticed that the pedal has a slight squeak to it and also there's more feel through the pedal but it's not necessarily a great feeling. When I push the pedal down, I can feel the clutch disengaging but it's kind of like a crunchy feel to it. Most of the pedal range is smooth but once I actually get to the engage/disengage point it has much more texture. It's kinda nice because it's more communicative but I'm also concerned that something's wrong. Other than those things, nothing has changed and the clutch performs fine. No TOB noise that I can detect.

Thoughts?

There should be no crunchiness. That's the TOB binding on the guide. Needs to be cleaned up and possibly replaced.

I've read that you can take a cover off the transmission and shoot the TOB with some grease. Do you think this stuff would work? http://m.homedepot.com/p/WD-40-SPECI...0059/204960991

And where is the cover on the transmission?

It won't do anything. If it's the TOB, only replacement will help. If it's the fork pivot, then any temporary elimination of the squeak/creak will have been because the fork was jostled around a bit.

Click the readme link on my sig. Someone has generously hosted all the service manuals.
