Wheel ramps
Somebody recently posted a thread about getting a jack under the front of the car. Somebody replied with a link showing ramps to drive up on. I've looked all over and can't find that thread. I've been using two by eights but they're heavy and sometimes hard to get up on. I can't get any lumberyard here to cut the sides at an angle. The ramps in the link looked like they were rubber and probably lighter and easier to use.

Don't know what thread you were in but I had a set of Rhinoramps that served me well for many years. Of all the ramps I used over the decades these were my favorite.

I was looking for a good way to get the car up high and motorcycle lifts kept popping up in my search so I started thinking that since they handle 1k-1500# each why can't we just put one under each wheel and lift the car 16 or 18"? It seems to me that a ~2800# car should be safe on 4 of these. No? |

The weight may be OK for the bike lifts but I would have some concerns about stability with all wheels up in the air.

I was thinking to put them under the wheels rather than where you'd put jack stands. |

Cusco jack assist ramps are awesome. Lower slope to help lowered cars get easily and then separate into two pieces to store in a small box

There were just little risers, maybe 2 inches, to get the car high enough to get jacks under it. I know there was a link to them but can't find it. I use boards like a lot of us, but these looked pretty light and easy to carry and use.
I've thought about Rhino ramps for other applications, but they're not helpful when you need to pull a wheel. |
