It's much easier to divide things by ten (metric) than by (12 in/ft,16 oz/lbs, etc. depending on the unit). Having a constant denominator of 10 is a clear advantage when dealing with conversions and things of that nature.

G's in a kg = 1000
Kg's in a ton= 1000
meters in a km=1000

oz in a lbs = 16 ( is there even a unit smaller than an oz for weight measurement in the imperial system? I know g's are in use for a lot of domains but they are a metric measurement so how does that work? I am genuinely curious as am Canadian and too young to have used the imperial system while in school)
in in a foot=12

I do hope they have a more basic version as well though since it was the lack of such things as steering wheel buttons and other useless (to me) dodads that drew me to the FRS in the first place.
See, I went with the BRZ because of the doodads. Otherwise they're the same car, so that was the only thing that set them apart. I like the HIDs, alcantara, climate control, etc... Also, everyone knows that Subaru is better.

That said, the steering wheel buttons on the MY17 are hideous. Can people really not reach all the way to the radio from the driver's seat that they need some obvious afterthought add-ons?

The only goodie I would like is the keyless entry and ignition. I had all the bells and whiles in my last Lancer and used none of them and actively hated some. A good example is the seats since I prefer cloth because I hate burning or freezing my ass off on fake leather. I will be really sad when that silly little cruise control stick goes away though. It is about 200% better than wheel controls for my driving style on the highway.

I used to think steering wheel buttons were silly until I owned a car with them.

I like that I never have to take my hands off the wheel to change the volume/track or answer the phone or whatever.

I don't mind buttons, I mind them looking like someone took a universal part and superglued it to the wheel as an afterthought. The newer STIs have buttons that flow with the lines around them and blend very well into the interior of the car, so I know it's possible.

I have a problem with all buttons. Why can't everything be touch screen? It works for our phones why can't the stereo, cruise, and steering just be by touch? Hell, the accelerator is just a dimmer switch, might add well make it touch screen too.

I would agree if this was a 74 Buick where it was a 15 minute walk to get to the radio knob. The radio is 6 inches away from my hand at any given time and it isn't like I keep both hands on the wheel all the time. If I am playing race car then I should not be worried about radio or phone buttons at that very moment anyway.

Can someone tell me why I can't give a buyer a positive iTrader rating? Is it because he doesn't have enough posts? It doesn't make sense

Because touchscreen sucks in a vehicle that doesn't ride like a pillow?

I don't mind it for functions I use infrequently but given the choice I'd rather have real buttons/knobs for common functions because I can then get to them without looking.

That is perfect. You should alternate that with this one as well.

How about Google glass? We could drive without even touching anything. Then you'd have both hands free to shove burgers and whatever else you can find in your mouth. Or jerk off, cuz that's what most people would do... anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial

When I went from stockers to Brembos on my WRX ooooh yeah. Night and day. I was maybe happier about that then the stop light gears (it was a driveline swap from 03 USDM WRX to an 04 JDM STi)
