No hate here, I have them on my other car, just don't think it's necessary on my 86, that's all, plus less cluttered looking interior.

Nothing wrong with steering wheel controls, just wish they could've made it look nicer.

Scion/Toyota have an FAQ (lost the link) and they were very clear that the 17s will still be monospec and they are "considering" other trims for 2018.

Subaru has always announced the MY changes much later than Toyota so this is not abnormal. Besides there are pics of the upgrades on cars in NA.

I hear no color changes and still monospec.

Haven't heard a thing on colours yet. @Dadhawk was it you that had the link to the FAQ? It stated outright that the 17s are indeed monospec.

Don't hate them but will never use them. Was one of the things that drew me to the FRS in the first place since it didn't have a bunch of stuff I never used. They make sense on a bigger car where everything isn't within a few inches of the steering wheel but are just sort of a waste on the 86. Even worse when it isn't even a full set of controls. The 17s have volume up and down, track forward or back and mode and that is it. Hardly seems worthwhile.

Personally for me it's not that far of a reach to turn the volume knob myself so it's really not that big of a deal.

So far I've heard, only one trim available for '17 model... but they might change.

might just be me, getting to sit in both the old car and new car back to back within 20 mins of eachother. I stand by the New steering wheel button or not feels better than the old one. the new wheel just feel better in the hands that emblem is really nice on there. Again it's just my opinion.

I used to call that the Captain Picard steering wheel.

I don't understand why car companies can't give us an option of hiding the steering wheel controls or just make another stalk.
