How long was it in for? I am on week 2 with no end in sight.

All in all it was 3 weeks. Brought it in on 10/2 and it was ready for pick up on 10/25. My service advisor told me the ECU's wont be shipped until first week of November but that was an overestimate to give themselves some room to manuveur Im sure.

Still no issues since the repair was completed, but I have noticed that I have lost a few mpg. Anyone else seeing this?

Ahhh..I know this is off topic, but is that a power plug inside the glove box!? No shit if I have ever noticed that in owning this car...

Also, I posted on the other thread regarding this issue...Today is 5 months and I am at 3,185 miles on my car. Besides the crickets, which have actually subsided, maybe because the Arizona heat has as well I have had no real issues, but the last four of my vin is 1848...very low sequence compared to those having these issues.

UPDATE: new EGI control replaced for P0019. So as of now the car is fixed. Will update once i put more miles on it. But the drive from the dealership back home felt awesome. No noticeable idle dips.

I've had the CEL cleared two times already, and every time, the car became completely powerless for a few miles (almost like the Limp Mode) right after the procedure. Then after a few days/week the power was restored progressively.

Last time I took the car a few minutes after they cleared it, and the first acceleration was like no power at all (pedal on the metal and the car almost not moving). I immediately went for a U-turn to drive back to the dealership, but on the way back, engine power increased a little, mid-turn, enough to make the wheels spin on a wet road. So I decided to drive a little more and now the car is kinda improved a little bit. Clearly less power than when it was new.

Can a CEL-clear restart the 100km (or was it 100 miles?) learning period ? or is the car still in pseudo-limp mode ???

I've seen people describing the same thing after a CEL reflash or upgrade, but was wondering why both would have the same impact on the car ?

Maybe the temporary loss of power has nothing to do with the change of software in the ECM, but with the procedure that they have to do that is similar between clearing a code and reflashing the whole thing ?

Maybe some people did not experience power loss because the dealer took the car for a spin and put a few dozens of miles on it before sending it back ?
A CEL clear and a reflash are 2 completely different things. If your dealership is just clearing the code without looking further into it, they're not taking you seriously. Basically all they're doing is just clearing the CEL but the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) still exists and is apparent with you feeling power loss and such.

Drive long enough and the CEL will re-appear. Drop it off and ask them to reflash your vehicle instead of just clearing the code, which does absolutely nothing to fix the issue at hand. Did they even give you the DTC number? Good luck with your dealer...

UPDATE: Just drove the FR-S home with a new ECU after rotting at the dealer for 30 days. Idle still dips a little but not nearly as harsh as before. Did a few blasts up to 7k, and she seems to be healthier than ever. Hopefully she stays that way.

Although I'm not very happy with the fact that they required me to drop off the loner car with a full tank of gas, yet they burned a quarter tank in the FR-S, test driving and didn't bother filling her up again. Oh well, I'm just excited to have her back in my garage again, safe and sound.

That's good news! Keep us posted!

P.S. How bad was the idle dip after the new ECU?

Not too bad at all, but it was definitely noticeable. Maybe it's because I JUST received the car back and am now hyper-sensitive to every little thing that goes on with it.

Either way, the RPMS fluctuated between 600-900 RPMs and it was very inconsistent, happened once or twice. I couldn't duplicate it so I just won't worry myself over it.

Now that I have my car back, I'm going to try to get back on track with the mods. Installing Rally Armor mudflaps tomorrow and possible ordering Invidia catless frontpipe.

Has your state switched to winter blend gasoline yet?

...that can cause a loss in mpg.
