How much sacrifice is all that charge piping? Does the intake being in the engine bay make much difference for a turbo application?

The car tuned by Vit, uses an Ace A/350 ceramic coated header.

The CSG BRZ (also with a ceramic coated Ace header) is capable of redlining on a C30 with HBP on ACN91, but isn't typically run that way on track. Even with a 91 octane tune, race gas is utilized at the track.
That's understandable & I figured as much that was going to be the case.

I'll hit CSG up when I'm closer to being ready to purchase a JRSC kit

You've been saying that for a while. Is there any chance you could show us? I'd love to see JRSC vs JRSC + ACE, or JRSC + ACE vs Edelbrock + ACE. I'm sure a lot of others would like to see this aswell.

Pretty much impossible to find that on regular fuel. ACE have no such data. And it looks like Delicious have nothing they can publicly show.

Michele Abbate (Edelbrock+ACE) and Oscar Jackson (JRSC+ACE) will keep that secret for obvious reasons.

I'm also very interested in those results. Superchargers tend to love big headers.

Same here, though I ran across this thread a while back:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47101

According to Drift Office, a tuned Vortech kit with an HKS EL header (decent header) vs stock header, wasn't as much of a difference as you'd think.

From what I've seen in general, most FI kits get rid of the torque dip. Job #1 for an aftermarket header on a NA car is to do just that. Bang for buck, might be more cost effective to invest in a HBP and a blow off valve than a $1400 header

Edit: would also be interested to see how a gutted stock header would perform

It looks like Delicious calibration is very often massively superior to others when a ACE header is involved.

They have so much more time on the dyno behind it. I bet all of the runs that CSG did on the dyno testing and improving on the ACE header is on their hands (as they seem to work together). So it makes sense that their tunes are vastly superior when it comes to ACE headers.

Yes exactly.
ACE, Delicious and CSG worked hand in hand.

This is why I'd much prefer an canned tune, that has as much time behind it as DT's tunes do, than a tune done in four hours on a dyno. It's likely to be cheaper, and better for 99% of the tune. You might leave a couple of horsepower on the table, in that one particular atmospheric condition, but that's likely to be it.

Yes, unless you spend 7k on custom tuning like CSG, there's no point not using Delicious.

ACE own racecar use a Delicious tune.
