South African Forum
Hey everyone,
Not to take anything away from this site, but I have created a South African BRZ/GT86 forum so that we dont have to cram all our RSA related posts into this one "AFRICA" forum. *Never mind - link removed, dont want to get banned :-) Last edited by Dammod; 03-17-2014 at 10:38 AM. Cool, but we've been down this road before. The community is very small so best to keep it here.

Seems that the 86 does suffer from a bit of an identity crises in SA. Agree that the community is quite small and doesn't justify standing on it's own. Based on my observations, it also doesn't quite align to the current local clubs/groups too, as there's not much in common with the rest of the range, but at least it's a "home" under the same brand. Unlike the US and other places, that got Supra's and Celica's, we also don't have any real association to Toyota's "glory days" of decent sports cars... and no, a handful of special imports does not count.
Let's be honest, even the dealers and some tuners, through brand association only have more experience with Hilux bakkies than the current 86... my opinion only, of course. |

Yep, I agree and thank goodness because if you look at what's going on with some of the other clubs I'm glad we're a small group.
