Good news manual drivers....

I no longer will be spanking you on the twisty roads.....you will no longer be shamed by an automatic 86 driven by me....

Due to the need for something more practical I have traded in my 86 for a new Mazda 3 Hatchback Grand Touring.

My other hobbies and interests got in the way of being able to justify keeping the 86 any longer, there is just not enough cargo space in the 86 to carry my gear. Drone racing and astronomy require too much equipment to carry and the new station wagon can do what the 86 could not......

Yes I am going to miss the blast on the twisty roads, and also proving the automatic is faster than your manual doing so......hopefully I will be able to get a Supra when they are available as an "extra" in my fleet.

Having a twin is a luxury. It is less than a practical package on so many levels. Many, many sacrifices are made in order to make this car pure. I'd never congratulate someone for making a more sensible choice.

Depends on what you need.
For me and my laptop to travel many miles a month it is far more practical than any pickup, van or wagon would ever be.
For a self employed carpenter or soccer mom with 6 kids it would be horribly impractical.
Practical all depends upon the planned usage not the car.

8 or so times out of 10, the car does exactly what I need it to. Luckily the space in the back is gigantic when you fold the seats down.

A Corolla or Civic beats it every single time, unless you are talking about fun and engaging.

You can haul firewood in it, but a Corolla or Civic will haul more.

It is a narrowly focused toy, sure it can be pressed into lots of roles, but it will always be bested by something more practical.

You are still defining "practical" by the vehicle and not the use. If you bought a Twin to haul firewood it is not practical. If you bought it for one person to drive around it is totally practical. It is the most practical vehicle I have owned for my purposes.
