I'm going to be selling mine in a month or two. We're having a baby, so we need something that can hold an infant car seat. I ordered a new GTI, so at least I'll still have something fun .

The base for our infant seat doesn't sit anywhere near level, and I don't want to use the carrier by itself without the base.

It's also just a good excuse to get into something a little newer, and with some more torque, and more creature comforts. Where I live we lose about 15-20% of engine output due to the reduced oxygen level at altitude. The GTI uses forced induction, so it will help a great deal with that.

I love the car and I'm going to miss it, but it's time for me to move on.

5/11 will be 3 years, and still going strong at 60,000+ plus miles. No plans to get rid of it anytime soon. No real issues except one occurrence of taillight condensation a little over a month ago, and the front of the hood looking like crap from paint chips I need to fix.

It's too bad Scion didn't do a better job of follow-up on the First86 program, I would love to know how many of the original owners purchased their cars and still own them. I would imagine it will start becoming a smaller and smaller list pretty quickly over the next couple of years.

Agreed. It would be an interesting stat.

My three year anniversary is 5/17, and I'm at around 52.5k miles. I'm on the fence about selling her, I just can't bring myself to.

My intention is to be the last First86 standing if at all possible, short of an accident that takes it out. Of course, I'll probably never really know.

Mine will be gutted to a dedicated track car if that happens (and is recoverable,) so good luck winning that
