Hello Evasive Motorsports, I have a question.
Will you allow your customers to send in their original headlight units as a core and or to be remanufactured to are liking?

I apologize in advance if this question was discussed.

Thankyou.

Agree...

The bottom LED's make the headlight look to busy in my opinion.

Also white halos would be ok but anything with colored lights or tinted lens I won't buy as I don't need tickets for illegal headlight mods.

My concern is that it looks clean and not ricey. Paint the inside of the housing black, make the LED's switchbacks like suggested and you have yourself something that will avoid copywrite, look clean, and can still be modified for those who want the halos. The lower LED needs to go.

Went to a socal event this afternoon and the project u Frs had the prototype heads lights on the car. I got to see what they looked like turn on and they look amazing. The owner said that they are only prototypes and they are still working on the head lights. I have to say though they look awesome

I think the black is a no go. People can paint them black if they want them that way. Or offer both. Chrome,halo?.. meh looks pretty cool I guess. Couldn't they do a few options? should absolutely be a BiXenon retrofit or designed for a BiXenon bulb. I'm with @suaveflooder the bottom LEDs are a bit much. Looks good alone, but mounted on the car, just trying too hard. I have the Valenti taillights, (only mod really on my car visually...) and I just hope I can find something as clean for the headlights. I like the chrome though for red cars, I keep seeing black and debating, but I remember doing my 4G eclipses lights to black, and decided I wanted to go back to chrome better. Just do a switchback on the top LEDs, and keep the side slits from the bottom for better side visibility. PLEASE make sure they're bright enough too... all the aftermarket stuff seems really dim during sunlight, and it's hard to compare to a halogen reflector for daytime illumination, but it's a deciding factor, at least for me. I almost get driven into daily by old folks it seems

We at Spyder Auto would like to Evasive Motorsport for taking their time to make this poll happen. We also like to thank everyone for participating in this poll to give us your thoughts and comments so that we improve our designs on our Projector Headlight for the FR-S. We have notice that there were a couple of concerns and questions. Hopefully with this message we are able to answer to most of it for you below.

1. Concerns and request for the item to replica the 86 headlights….

We are aware that the design of the GT86 headlight and with the “JDM Style” look is what everyone is after. Unfortunately we are not here to duplicate anyone or any companies headlights. We are aware that our design is not the best, but we strive to produce and make necessary improvement to enhance our own unique design to separate us from the stock units. The design of the headlight is at its final stage and we won’t be making much changes. We will take this poll to consideration and to make some internal wiring changes on our headlight follow the popularity votes. We hope the final version of this light will be to the specs that all of you request. Thank you

2. HID Compatibility….

This headlight uses the same bulb type as the factory headlight the FR-S uses. Therefore if you have an aftermarket HID unit on your vehicle, everything will just transfer right over.

3. There were questions regarding the projector functions.

The headlight unit does not have a separate high beam bulb. The high beam is built into the projector itself. We use the same technology as a lot of OE manufacturers with an electronic controlled switch which controls the high beam. Therefore you will not lose your high beam.

4. DOT questions….

For all of you that had question regarding the item being DOT, the answer is YES. All Spyder parts and products are DOT compliant and do meet regulations and standards.

5. Why did we add a turn signal on the headlight?

One main reason why we added the turn signal to the headlight is that we know for a fact this will be a high modified vehicle. Reason one is body kits, and other is intake functions to the vent on the original bumper. We work with numerous companies and notice a lot of owners which have a bodykit will not be able to re-install back their signal light. Therefore we added to the headlights so it can be used for a alternative route for drivers which own an aftermarket bumper or kit. 2nd reason for this design many companies out there are producing the bottom signal area and bezel into a intake vent. And we are aware most owners and drivers of this vehicle are more performance driven on this vehicle so therefore we have added the DRL and signal onto the headlights.

6. Colors, Black, Chrome, Smoke…

We will more than likely produce this piece in Black and Chrome. With this poll we just wanted to see if there was a market for the Chrome piece as the stock vehicle comes with a Chrome headlight.

7. Additional information for this projector headlight.
We will be producing this unit to fit the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ. There will be 2 separate units and part numbers. They are not interchangeable, these will be application specific.

Thank you everyone for your input and help. For all Inquiries regarding price and release date. Evasive Motorsports will be the first to announce. Please follow Spyder Auto and Evasive Motorsports on Facebook and Instagram for future updates.

Best regards,

Mikey Lee

I also saw the prototype on Sunday at Longo's Scion 10 anniversary meet. At first I wasn't into both top and lower LED's, but they don't look bad in person. I think if anything should go from the prototype is the halo. Great job tho Spyder! Thanks!

Is it possible to have the turning signal wire on a separate loom. So that those that dont want or need the signal can just unplug the wire?

Interesting that the Subaru and Scion versions are not interchangeable. Might that be because one's designed to take a HID bulb and the other a halogen?
