Would knife edging the throttle body provide any additional flow on this car? I would think yes but I'm looking for the input of someone smarter than me.

Boring out the throttle body isn't going to make much of a difference in this car since it's already 3". Subaru turbo cars are 2.75" and make a lot more power!

It is available and i do sell them now but with Perrin's christmas sale it's cheaper to buy direct from them. Grab an air filter too!!

Not really boring just elimating the material on the leading edge of the throttle body so incoming air dosent slow down.

A 70mm throttle body will probably support almost 400 HP naturally aspirated. At least the 70mm TB I had on my old 5.0L Mustang did. I think there's more than enough airflow for a 2.0L motor.

why don't you use your own creation?

Many will likely say the FR-S/BRZ needs more power and while more wouldn’t hurt, those folks (the same ones who have probably never driven on a track) are missing the point.

That's a great question. For those who have followed my trial's and tribulations many would know that I've created a myriad of intake systems. While all variations worked very well, they didn't necessarily work for those who live in certain states that have all four seasons without needing some type of a tune. Myself included. Yes, the BRZ and FR-S is that finicky.

I jumped on the bandwagon like everyone else and bought an Airaid. While I didn't have a problem with that product - and no, I didn't have any type of technical issue and was quite happy with it, I thought I should go back to stock minus the snorkel and sound tube (which is what I did just minutes ago) and will drive in this configuration whilst it is cold outside to see how it performs.

All of the intake systems that I've created or purchased were during the summer months. I haven't done any cold/winter testing - so that's what I am going to start to do.

Once I receive the Perrin product, I'll put that on and see how I like it and go from there.

BTW - The Airaid is now for sale. PM me if interested.

Just as an FYI -

In cold weather testing and with the Airaid intake removed and back to stock (not including sound tube and snorkel), I honestly feel the car performs better than it did with the Airaid on it. I think there is more torque and the revs are much quicker. Sure, the sound is not so pronounced as before (think Hoover vac), but not too bad. I look forward to the intake tube and see how that works as well.
