Trying to buy Rocket Bunny V2

I’ve been eye balling the rocket bunny V2 kit for a long time now and I finally have a very valid excuse (need) to replace my front bumper. I went right away to my local dealer to purchase the front bumper portion of the kit only to be told that is it currently discontinued.

I really don’t want to go any other route (or with a v3) and finding a used one is going to be difficult and tedious.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the rep kits out there?

I think I remember reading somewhere that you have to order the RB kits directly through Greddy now and not through other distributors. Might be worth trying to go through them directly. Other than that I'm not sure...

I have a fiberglass replica V2 kit that i purchased from Ikon Motorsports at a fraction of what the authentic Greddy cost. I would have never been able to afford the kit otherwise.

I'm extremely happy with the kit, no real fitment issues. As long as you have a competent installer you wont be able to tell its a replica.

This is the rep i would recommend at the moment, as i think Ikon is only selling a ABS version now. (although im not seeing the front bumper)

The aerostop stuff is actually really really decent all things considered. But doesn’t look like they have just the front bumper - in fact no one is really selling JUST the front bumper not even ikon right now or Greddy direct.

I ended up purchasing one from vsaero last night at a decent price. It’s FRP, which I’m not crazy about but even a real Greddy one would’ve been. But it seems it’s my only option right now if I want one so we’ll see how it goes.

Well, to update everyone.

Bumper came in on Tuesday and I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what I’m going to do here.

As of right now, this is the closest I can get the kit on and I’ve been trying for days.

In order to come this far, I’ve had to do the following:

- Remove headlight brackets
- Remove bumper clips from fenders
- Remove ALL under trays underneath the crash bar
- Tuck (will likely have to remove) fender liners

As you can see in the photos the fitment around the headlight is horrendous. Like there’s almost an inch gap or more in some areas. The corners by the fenders I can definitely line up no problem but I didnt want to force anything into place for fear of damaging the part of I have to send it back.

Clearance around the headlight is a major problem. Even then, lining up the top section of the bumper to bolt it into place where the hood gasket is, is next to impossible. The lip where you would have to drill holes thru doesn’t sit flush and it’s almost as if the whole top section sits narrower than it should so the bumper has to be almost forced open vertically to even get it to sit where it is.

The mounting tabs on the bottom of the bumper obviously don’t even attached to anything because well, the under tray doesn’t exist anymore.

Not %100 sure what to do. I’ve emailed the seller/manufacturer to see if there’s been a batch error. All the research I’ve done on VsAero shows that alot of there other products are actually quite good. But this one missed the mark and sending it back is going to be a nightmare.

If anyone can recommend another kit (front bumper only) replica or real, new or used I’ll gladly consider it as I don’t even have a stock bumper to fall back on - it was destroyed by a snow bank. Also considering non rocket bunny at this point even though an RB V2 kit has been a total dream of mine since purchasing the car.

Any advice helps.

Looks like typical bodykit problems to me.

Should I keep going with it? Really what worries me is the gap in the headlight areas (underneath and in the corner) and the fitment of the top section under the hood gasket - it doesn’t sit flat.

I have no problem moving forward with it, if it looks like it’s a workable piece.

Anyone with FRP Experience think that applying heat will help in shaping some areas?

A stock front bumper replacement would be easy to source and fit correctly. Plus, added advantage of looking great!

If you wanted another route a 2017+ upgrade could be done.

Too easy lol. I’ve always wanted RB or at least something different.

Rocket bunny is really common though? This is a prime time for a 2017 conversion, especially in the aesthetics department.

Also something I’m considering if this doesn’t pan out tbh.

I think its workable, even an authentic kit will need some work fitting

Start tightening things down up top and i think the gap under the headlight will go away.
The gaps at the corners of the headlights is normal, there will always be a gap there. i can take a picture of mine if you'd like to see how it sits.

i think my kit even had to be trimmed slightly to clear the headlights (i didn't do the install myself)
