No, IIRC it works by giving the surface a nanotexture that doesn't allow liquids to "wet out", forcing them to have an extremly high contact angle which makes them slip right off. Should work the same for oils.

If you use a scanning microscope, you'll find that virtually everything has a "nanotexture". In marketing language it means "I use techno-babble to take your money, fool!".

Well, no shit sherlock.

What I meant is that at the nano scale, it has a texture that causes super beading. Some plants have little teeny tiny "hairs" that do the same thing.

Guess i'll just copy and paste this again..

A few things to consider:

This stuff isn't permanent.

Also if i'm correct, if you want your car to be shinny with wax, it wouldn't work well from what I've read on other forums. It sort of counteracts shine. So if your lazy, I'd stick with Opti coat.

Also: Car wax has a contact angle of 95 degrees. NeverWet creates a contact angle of 165 degrees. If the contact angle were 180 degrees, any water touching it would form a perfect sphere.

Its a $20 product from home depot, don't overblow it.

I read that it doesn't last long on things that experience a lot of friction. So items like clothing probably won't stay 'NeverWet' for too long. I'd look for the source of that statement but I'm pretty sure it was from some users' feedback, nothing official. And since it's a relatively new product I'm interested to see further tests/usages, etc.
