17x8 +42, 225 or 215. Will I need to roll fenders?

That's nearly an OEM optioned size, however at +42 offset it won't be flush. +42 is perfect flush offset for 17x9 on stock suspension, for 17x8 you'll want +38 or you'll want to run a 4mm slip spacer.

You do not need to roll the fenders... you'll want a 225/40R17 tire.

225/45R17* is barely bigger then stock.
225/40 is way too small diameter. 245/40 is nearly stock diameter.

You're correct, I had a wire crossed. It should be 225/45R17 on 17x8 wheels.
