I'm not that old but I still remember cars not coming with the passenger side mirror as standard equipment.

How the hell did you guys adjust mirrors on the hood?

You either got help (NOT the wife or GF as it would end up in a fight)
Or
In the car look.
Out of the car adjust.
In the car look.
Out of the car adjust.
In the car look.
Out of the car adjust.
As soon as you get it just right some asshat would walk by and smack it.

This is true due to differences in language/vocabulary. Just last night I asked my wife for some help. I'm still recovering from a partial rotator cuff tear due to my motorcycle accident and wanted my wife to poke around at the muscles in my shoulder while I was in the middle of a stretch, to pinpoint the source of pain.

As she was prodding around with her thumb, I said "Move your thumb inboard a bit." She said "Inboard? WTF is inboard?" I should have stopped, rethought my answer, but didn't. I replied "Inboard means closer to centerline."
That was the start of the argument that left me prodding my own damn shoulder.

only thing I don't like about it...

The only thing I don't like about it, is it's a tad finicky...

Sometimes when I go to resume, it doesn't remember, or it sets it again at the speed I'm at instead of resuming.

I think it was volume, tune, source on the left, and then cruise on the right side. If I remember mine anyways.

I think it might be something like that, but I'm almost positive there was a mute button now lol

The worst design imo is to have the cruise control on the steering wheel spoke itself.

I also notice that with Japanese cars the cruise control tends to be on the right, and with German cars on the left, most likely due to their native countries being RHD and LHD respectively. Must be a lot of money to make it RHD or LHD specific.

I'm actually surprised the new twin doesn't come with a sunroof or full leather interior option to go with its upscaling agenda, and maybe add a lumber support too while at it.

Toyota has had that stalk since about 1990 or so. Believe it or not, at one point they had the controls on the spokes of the steering wheel!

Also, I'd kill for some adjustable lumbar... No I'm not adding a damn cushion.

I know a number of the Japanese ones had cables or later electric controls for them. IIRC they're also fairly wide angle anyway, so it's not as critical.

I wonder if these leaked pics were from a premium and not the limited. I see no fog lights.

The new 86 seems to have no fog lights too. Maybe they deleted them? Who knows. Maybe the car is so low already it doesn't need fog lights anyway lol

There are a few items I miss and can't have in my BRZ. The moonroof, which I have enjoyed in every car for the last 20 years, is the most obvious, among a few others. But the designers have said out front that the moonroof was not possible due to the effect it would have had on the center of gravity. That was a design consideration that every option had to be measured against in order to keep our sports car light on its feet and nimble in its movements. Full leather was not a weight issue, but the alcantara panels keep our butts from sliding around on those curves. Likewise, no heavy electric motors for eight-way power seats. Though the lumbar support would have been wonderfully welcome and of no consequence weightwise, right?

So whenever you pine for some feature we can't have, think of the COG and weight issues first, and take a little cold comfort from it.

Bingo. Just turn the little knob and aim the headlights a bit lower, works great. I would like some driving lights on either side of the license plate though, something with a pin point beam with extremely long reach.

I won't mind this actually.

Actually our Alcantara seats are great, grippy like you said and they warm up a lot faster with the seat heaters than full leather in winter.

Let's be honest, stock BRZ fog lights are useless anyway. Without the dash indicator it's impossible to tell they're on from inside the car.

Main reason I upgraded mine to LED assemblies that actually put out usable light.
