Sonax Wheel Cleaner ?
Has anyone ever used Sonax Wheel Cleaner on SBC (Special Brilliant Coating) RPF1 and will it strip the clear coat or do any damage to the actual coating of the wheel?

I have not but I have used many wheel cleaners on many types of wheels and have never damaged any of them. Those things are built to take it. Just follow the directions and all will be fine.

I have that wheel cleaner and I think it is citrus based and fairly safe to use on a variety of wheel types.

Is SBC a powder coating followed by a clear coat? If so, Full Effect is safe for both powder coatings and clear coats...it's pH neutral so you're also good if its anodized or polished. But it's definitely worth doing a test spot regardless.
While I've not used it on that specific finish, I would argue it is one of the safest wheel cleaners on the market (plus it has the added benefit of decon, which a lot of cleaners lack.) I've found that on a wheel that has been ceramic coated, this becomes a true scrub-free cleaning. IIRC, Plus is their stronger concentration of the original Full Effect. |

Note, if your brakes have corrosive dust, Sonax will happily clean it all away and reveal the damage your brakes have done...

I'm really curious to see how well some of the ceramic wheel coatings work with the more corrosive dust that tends to come from the more aggressive track pads. With semi-metallic street pads, I am delighted with how well these coatings seem to protect the wheel's clear coat (and how much they simplify removal) - but I know some of the more aggressive compounds you fellas run on the track can be a LOT nastier, plus there's always the additional heat buildup, so I think it would be really interesting to see if the coating still delivered sufficient protection in this usage scenario!

IIRC, Enkei says to use only mild dish soap and water for their SBC wheels but from googling around it looks like folks use many different products without any detrimental effects....

Why would you apply it to brake rotors?

I find soap and water is good if you keep up with it. Don't like the harsh ones as i feel im breathing in cancer, they are very strong. Gloves and a scarf or n95. Look on tje bottls for the warnings to see if you should consider wearing PPE.

Oh. I always have the wheels off the car when I use it. Is changing wheels a few times most weekends unusual?
