Tire Pressure Warning
So my tire pressure light went off today. I drove it for the first time after like.... 1.5 months being stored in the garage.
I was hoping it was because of the cold, it went from warm room temperature garage to freezing temp but when I checked the tires out, I found a thumb tax, like the ones u use to put on the foot of a furniture so it doesnt wobble or something... Well, I was too stupid and took it out, it had about an inch long needle that pierced all the way through the tires (im guessing). So... Can I take it to the dealership tomorrow and have them plug it or whatever they do to fix it before the hole gets bigger? Is that covered under the warranty (tire normal warranty)? If not, its a $20.00 labor fix that can avoid a new tire cost. Here's what the thing looked like... But maybe longer than this. Slightly longer. Also, how are they going to patch it? Cuz I removed the damn thing and I dont know where the damage is lol. I do know its in the Rear Driver side. Sad day. Maybe I shouldnt have taken the car to the Chevrolet dealership for a valuation to trade it in for a Camaro SS -.- Bad Luck

Warranty doesn't cover that unless you have tire road hazard. Bring it to pep boys or some other cheap place, they'll patch it for $10. They'll stick the tire under water to see where air is escaping from, then they take a rubber tube that they plug through the hole, it has some adhesive on it as well I believe.

Make sure you have a plug/patch done... It's as the name states both a plug and a patch all in one.

DIY plug kits often do not last. Plug/patches like the one I posted a picture of are designed if installed correctly to be a permanent solution that is designed to last the life of the tire.

When my Camry got a nail in the tire I took it up to the Toyota dealership, since the local shop I'd dealt with in the past took hours to get anything done. 3 bucks and some change to fix it, and the tire lasted me another 15k miles until the tread was gone.
