Welcome Yugan. Yes as Sav said, watch the group buys, you can get some nice deals there, or even the Classifieds. 86 parts are still limited in SA So you gonna have to import.
Tommy Kaira, you can go 2 ways.
You can get them from Bulletproof Automotive, or from TK in Japan. You can mail them. They speak English and very open to questions. You can PM me if you have any more questions.
Here's a Japanese site for some odds and ends http://global.rakuten.com/en/search?...toyota+86&fs=0
(Tip: when searching a US site, search for Scion FRS)

@sav, love those tails

@ Fish Eagle, excellent write-up

Thanks Vic. It goes great - exactly what I was looking for. I enjoyed the drive back from Jhb immensely.

Brakes - nothing yet. I'm not convinced that I need to upgrade with how I use my car... But I'll feel it out and see how it goes.

So feel good:
I have an AWESOME better half, that appreciates my affair with my 86.
As a consequence, she gave me advanced driver training and a track day for my birthday. Both of those are RIDICULOUSLY hard to come by in Namibia.

Date's not set yet, but "early next year" is the word.

Loving my car more and more every day - it just keeps getting better!!
I would never have believed that I could enjoy a car so much at my age.

It's 1000 kms since my SC conversion and it's perfect - exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks RGMotorsport for a very professional job.

"Some say" that their prices are too high, but you get what you pay for, and I'm 100% satisfied that I got good value for my money.
My old Nissan Sani was seriously modified by Hennie van der Linde (Mr Nissan racing) back in 1990 - head, cam, branch, carb, etc.
The motor hasn't been opened since then (23 yrs), and it still runs very sweetly.
Sure, you can do your own mods, or have a backyard tech/mech do them, but I'm a believer in getting a pro to do such things...

My car dyno'd at 168wkw/7400rpm and 317Nm/6000rpm.
I find the power delivery very smooth and linear which makes it a pleasure to drive at any rpm. And it's quiet - no supercharger howl.
It's very different to my Subaru where the turbo comes in with a moerse surge, and quickly runs out of revs because it has a very narrow power band.
My 86 is now quicker than the XT, but it doesn't feel so because it's much less dramatic.

It's just the right amount of extra power - nice and sporty and quite quick, without making the car tricky and awkward to drive.
The massive increase in mid-range torque makes overtaking a pleasure because I no longer have to rev the knackers off it to make anything happen.
It's exactly how it should have come from the factory.

The new exhaust system is superb - it just feels so free and wide open, and it sounds great!!
My car now sounds like a sportscar, but without being boy-racer loud (except for the first minute or so in the morning when the neighbours get treated to a symphony in 86 minor - LOL).

In total, including all the mods that I've done, I'm into my 86 for less than R400k.
If I look down the list of car prices, there's nothing comes anywhere near what I've got for that price.
Consider 168wkw = approx 225fkw, licence weight 1220 = power-to-weight ratio of 184kw/ton.
Cheapest that I could find which betters that is Merc C63 AMG at R917k

I'm a happy camper.

Well done on your install @Fisheagle, I drove a Vortech in JHB and it pulls really well.
You should hook up with that GREAT guy Jououmasecrutch Larne and go dyno your cars on the same dyno and overlay the graph to compare the gains.

Enjoy the power SC FTW.

All of us in Cape Town are having a feel good moment this week end during our get together. Even Waldi sitting in his car... What is remarkeble is that he is 81 year of age..how is that for a cool guy. He used to have Porche and other sports cars in tha day. :-)
