They work ok for short runs but anything longer than a few laps they are not sufficient. Thankfully Velox Motorsports has an innovative brake cooling kit coming out soon that I will be installing. It will use the factory BRZ fog light housings (which I already have installed) and hoses via a blow molded pancake pipe to sneak around the outside of the wheel well liners and onward directly to the rotors via a backing plate. Shortest possible route for cool air.

Never been so excited to cut holes in something. Just received my Velox Motorsports modular hood vent kit with rain guards! These are gorgeous!

I talked to you on the book of faces about this. I'm VERY interested to see your install. If the GT3 ducts don't do enough for me (and why would they? they don't work for you with your BBK) I'll be doing the same, but with stock brakes for now.

Also, do you happen to have that pic of your car with glowing disks in higher res than on facebook? I need a new wallpaper

Velox already posted all these on the book of faces but I'll toss em up for ya.

Haha, thanks. I hadn't seen the pics Eric posted of the ducting, just the intake and hub side mount. Good stuff!

Cannot wait for those brake ducts!

I noticed you are a HPDE instructor so you probably have some knowledge on this matter. I see you run the stock seats with a 4 point harness and hans. Is this an accepted practice for HPDE?

Yes it's been approved by like 5 different local track club tech inspections as well as the owners of both Discovery Parts and HMS Motorsports. I also use a HANS device which has been tested and approved by Schroth for compatibility and use with the Profi II ASM harnesses. I highly recommend using both if you're also running the stock seats. Don't forget a harness bar that puts the shoulder straps at the correct angle (at almost level or slightly lower than your shoulders, Schroth specifies this in the install manual) to hold you down in your seat in an impact.

When you deleted the washer fluid tank, did you replace it with something elsewhere to do the same funtion? If so, what? Much love for this car, the build thread has already made me put in a couple of orders to FT86speedfactory for bits to take home with me....

Somehow I doubt it...he doesn't have side windows, heat, music, or 3rd brake light. I'm guessing windshield washer reservoir/pump/wiring/tubing would be right out the window. If he had one.

No, deleted it completely but left the wiring and lines. Windex and a microfiber get the job done just fine.

@killboy not my girl. Just an old friend who wanted to ride in a real racecar instead of the spray painted v6 mustang drift car her ex husband "drift raced". Whatever that means...

I did the same thing when I deleted mine. I never used it anyway. 3 years of ownership I had a little more than 3/4 full of the factory washer fluid.

I drained mine the first chance I got. Will eventually remove it totally, but wanted to hold off popping the bumper until other parts start going in!
