It also flows better.

The only reason I can think of to delete that would be cosmetics.
I'm in NY so I just need to pass OBD II if I'm not mistaken.

Compared to the stock intake yes less airflow but I need to kill that torque dip so was planning on running the grimmspeed intake and some no cat uel headers until early summer next year (plan on getting suspension, brakes, clutch, transmission, and audio work done before going forced induction).

I was (and still am) strongly considering the turbo route for low end torque. The thing is if this kit will allow me to make that power down low (unlike the HKS and vortex) while giving me the option to keep both the intake and header of my choice (unlike the AVO and ptuning) then this kit will probably win out.

I'm only aiming for 230 wheel torque so it's not like I need the overhead the turbo kits provide and yes trying to keep a certain aesthetic appeance if I can. Who says you can't have functional form?

@CxG

If you are seriuosly thinking about getting the kit. Skip the intake and tune. Go ahead and buy headers, but You'll be paying 2x for the tune if you go your route, and an intake won't net you any real gains anyway, bro.

This is the exact same supercharger they use in the lotus evora s correct? that cars 0-60 is in the low 4s i think and it weighs 3166lbs granted it has a 3.5 for engine size so that should add a lot more power. i wonder if its the same pulley size on that car as this kit. maybe we could see mid to high 5s 0-60 with this kit and decent wheels then we can compete with 350z!

Sadly, cash flowing three kids through college with no debt means I haven't eaten lunch out in 8 years, but I hear ya!

I'd love to see as well, because it looks to be larger than the stock radiator

I always figured I'd stay N/A but if I went forced induction it would be supercharged. For some reason, this makes me want it more than other kits...

Dare I say it and chastise me if I am wrong, but I think this Edelbrock blower is a stunner. Fine for a stock engine on the carb tune and yet enough potential flow for something I think to be, quite serious for a 2800 pound car.

Cheers,

Budo

I've posted this a few times before, but this is the dyno from the TRD S/C using the TVS1320 on Stout Racing's FR-S from a couple years back. This is on a 10.5:1 CR engine running 98 octane fuel, 12psi iirc. Definitely a smaller pulley than what Edelbrock is using. This is WHP and a stock car was never dyno'd on this dyno, so it's hard to do a comparison. They later made 347WHP with different tuning. I don't think making 300WHP will be all that difficult with either this kit or the Harrop one, which uses the same 1320.

I guess I probably know the answer to my question, but if I decided to add a header (or exhaust), it's best to re-tune. However, since this is a locked carb tune, does this mean I'd have to buy another ecutek license and spend $$$ on tuning?
