Who thinks the FR-S looks like a Maserati?

Does anyone else think that the 2013 Scion FR-S looks a lot like a 2012 Maserati GranTurismo (worth $150,000.00 US)?

I do.

I have used the Thumb app to see what others think our car is worth, and many think it is worth well over $50K. It drives like a $50K+ sports car as well.

Even the black part that wraps up around behind the car is there. Interesting. And, the spoiler looks a lot like the FIVE:AXIS design in the pictures. Cool.

Oh. See the bumps on the sides of the hood. Those are the same on the FR-S (almost identical). The shape of the car is nearly identical as well from a side view. The FIVE:AXIS front lip kit is going to add a wing to the front that looks similar to the center part of the front bumper on the Maserati. Perhaps we can call the FR-S a poor man's Maserati? I know the performance between the two cars has no comparison, but they sure both look high-end to me.

I saw a white GranTurismo about a month ago at one of my regular lunch spots. Given the kinds of cars driving around my area, I wouldn't rule out seeing it again. Hopefully serendipity will kick in and I'll have the opportunity to park my white FR-S next to it.

Please take pictures if you ever park next to it (for comparison purposes). ;-)

I think in multiple aspects of the body are similar (almost too similar). But some aspects like the lights, front fascia, side skirts and such are too different. Very interesting to think that it's plausible that Toyota looked at the Maserati and ran with it!

So...who's going to be the first to attempt a Maserati headlight conversion?

I have had two folks mention that they thought either it was or looked like a Maserati.
