As for the 2.4L K24 engine, they are currently using that in two other models already (i.e 2012 Civic SI and 2012 Acura TSX). Not that its a bad engine or anything but using it again in the ILX just seems lazy...

EDIT: make that five models: Civic Si, TSX, Accord, Crosstour and CR-V.
From what I've read Acura is going to continue production on the RL (new one coming this year IIRC), TL and will drop the TSX (ILX is it's replacement).

Will you cut off just one if it has 200 hp?

RLX concept... I think they are going to change the name to RLX. Now they have ILX, RLX, MDX, and RDX. LOL We need more Xs.

I actually really like the ILX, the interior and exterior look nice. It has a decent motor as well (the 2.4L).

I'm actually more curious if Lexus will follow this lead.

I hope they do...

What lead? Lexus said that they will not go more down market. They will offer CT as the lower model for now. I don't see why they would go smaller since they want to establish more up scale products.

+1 I don't think Lexus needs any more cars lower than their current line up.

They sort of did....remember the HS250h?

That was pretty much a prius in a suit. That thing flopped hard.

Then they brought out the CT200h, which was a far better machine because although it was still a slow hybrid, it actually matched a segment of the competition (which alot of them have hatchbacks as entry level models), and is apparently a far better drive too.

Plus the new ES getting a hybrid powertrain pretty much puts the final nail in the HS coffin.

They just really need to put a regular motor in the CT. Imagine, a CT250 (yeah i know a CT350 would be better) with the 2.5L V6 from the IS250, thing would haul ass.

didn't know that. Makes sense though

I just want Lexus to make more cars, I really like the design of them.
