Did you happen to catch SeanRTR's build thread further down the page? Here's the link to page 2: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=41955&page=2

He's running staggered BFG Rivals (Front: 225/45; Rear: 245/40). The 245/40 Rivals on the rear didn't seem to slow him down at the Wilmington Match Tour. Not sure how 245/40 Rivals would feel on the front, but it might be worth a shot! Especially for contingency purposes.

Edit: Upon further review, it appears you were there with him in your RX-8, so you may already know all of this....ha, ha!

They are monotube shocks. They do not have internal bumpstops. I ran them last year with no bumpstops. I used the ziptie trick every course on all four corners using 245/40/17 Hoosier A6s. It's not difficult to do that with the stock shocks, just have to remove the dust boots.

The MCS shocks I'm sure use more nitrogen pressure than stock so the effective spring rate is higher. I ran them around 115 PSI cold.

well yes, you can run them without bumpstops, there is roughly 3" of theoretical shaft
travel, which given my previous math would require roughly 700lb of weight transfer to use up (highly unlikely in a controlled environment)

the question was how often they are engaged?....

also, what was the highest that the ziptie moved from the base of the damper after a day of driving?

Yeah, they clear with the stock rims, ZII, and crash bolts.

I thought I heard some rub at lock when I first put them on, but didn't notice it again after ~250 street miles and 12 autox runs. /shrug

My co-driver and I finally got to try our 245/40/17 RS3 Version 2 this weekend. It was 70-71 degrees, sunny, and VERY WINDY (the ground stayed cold). Tire temps reached about 105 degrees at most, but there was still a lot of grip. We found the tires pretty responsive, too. We still need to make more adjustments now that we have A LOT more lateral grip. Overall, we were happy we went this route

If anyone is needing B6s or Koni Yellows, now is the time. Both are running really good sales. You can message me for more details.

I went with the konis because Im cheap, looking back, shouldve done the B6 probably.

I've never driven on the old compound before since before this car I was a single driver and always has Star Specs/Z2's. My co-driver has driven on the old compound. Both of us felt there was good grip when cold. My co-driver said there's definitely more grip in the Version 2's cold and we'd have been sliding around on the old compound. It helped to daily the tires for a bit before the event to scrub the tires.

I have uploaded my full video of the Sunday morning runs at the Mineral Wells pro solo this past weekend. I think Drew does a good job in the background with the announcing to help tell the story of the come from behind win in CS.

Congrats! Well deserved after the car trouble you had at Texas Championship Tour last March. Good job also considering that you were up against the 370Z that won C-Stock Nationals last year (driven by its new owner).

Here are my runs from the NJ Championship tour. I drove horribly on day 1 going too hot into some sections.

I was able to clean it up on day 2 but still could not get close to the Mark Andy. Still have a lot to learn to be able to drive faster.

I'm clearing with OEM wheels and OEM crash bolts with ZIIs 245/40-17.
I was also clearing with Rota 17x8 +48 and crash bolts and same tires.

And no, not really. Just an idea... taken to the next level about 15 different times over beers. Apparently this infinity shirt thing is a trend now??

You should definitely buy one and wear it to the Toledo Pro.
