2007 STi... should I pull the trigger?

My buddy is moving up to Rip City (Portland, OR) and needs to sell one of his cars; 07 black STi.

From what he told me, it's black/black, 23K miles, body is mint, has some engine mods and dyno'd about 400hp; front mount, Tial wastegate, Blouch Dominator 2.5r turbo, 750cc injectors, Cobb Accesssport.

I think I might take it off his hands since the FT doesn't come out till 11/12.

What do you think?

I'd jump all over that if it's legit. Does he have service records? I found a 2007 STi with 23k on the odo and it's listing for 29k. There's another with 40k on the odo listed for 22 so if you found the latter for 21k, jump on it, FT or no FT.

I've known the seller since 2003 when we used to race motorcycles. At the time, he had a 850HP Supra 2JZ so I know he takes care of is stuff.

Here are some pics of the setup before they went on the car.

If he takes care of his stuff like you say, there's no reason to pass up on this gem, especially with what you're getting for 21k.

i love my wrx, it has 306 whp and it's very very fast and fun to drive, so 400hp should be something special to drive on the street. go for it, plus the sound is priceless

Thanks fellas! I'm gonna go drive it tonight so if I'm heavily impressed then I'll scoop it up.

Kind of off on a tangent but since I got into motorcycles, 145mph full lean angle dragging knee into Turn9 @Willow Springs, maxing 6th gear at Miller's front straight... I test drove the '10 STi at Kearny Mesa Subaru and wasn't impressed at all. The hatchback looks very nice and all but it seemed very underpowered.

What kind of wheels are on the blue one? CE28's? That thing looks sick!

Alot of people say that... but I just can't get over the hatch... I'm pretty excited about the rumors of a sedan return in '11 though.
