No, if the computers aren't powering up in the on position, a jump isn't going to work.

My bet ecu or the custom reverse light. But it sounds like what happened to me with my wife's ford flex. Positive terminal connector was completely corroded. Replaced it but some how the ground was not on tight enough or cleaned... It almost as if the car was in theft mode. Lights came on but no crank and no start. Cleaned it a bit more and tightened down car fired right up... When it was not starting my Bluetooth obo2 code reader was not working. After no issues.

Thank you for your input! My terminals are pretty clean and they’re well connected. My shop told me to check my fuses and if I decide to, I can have my car towed to their place. Which fuses control my starter system or which ones should I check?

My car is still not starting and the next available day for my shop to look at it is next week. Are there any certain fuses that I should be checking in particular? Here a list of my current symptoms: car not starting, tail lights & reverse lights not working (only when I lock or unlock the car they flash), radio doesn’t work, air conditioning and heater don’t work, windows don’t roll up or down, parking lights don’t come on with headlights but they flash with the key just like the tail lights and reverse light, windshield wipers don’t work, car doesn’t shift into neutral or drive without me using the shift bypass button. Any and all input would be helpful, thanks.

It would not take much time to check all of the fuses with a multimeter.
Don't rely on just looking at them , because fuses can appear fine when actually open circuit from just being old.

If you had an issue that blew that many fuses then it is still beyond a driveway repair. Replacing fuses does not eliminate the problem. You could try disconnecting the custom reverse light. Custom lights have been known to cause all sorts of weird things to happen.

Would custom lights cause the car to stop while driving?

I would think that a previous owner that would remove the muffler and put in a custom backup light may have done many other changes that are not easily seen. Many will remove other custom goodies to sell, leaving partial parts installed.

It could be time for a dealer to check it over. You may otherwise be chasing problems for ever. A good shop that has a lot of experience with this kind of modified cars would also be a good choice, but it will cost either way.

From your posts it would seem you have limited experience with custom cars, might be a good idea to find a club with knowledgeable people to help you. Most car nuts are willing to help and teach if you will listen.

I know you just want it fixed and start playing, Buying a used car that is modified is always a risk. Did you buy privately or through a dealer?

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INPUT! I apologize if you were under the impression that the car was modified before I bought it. The car was very much stock and straight out of the factory when I bought it. I was the one who had the muffler taken off and the fourth brake light installed. At this point and after what you have recommended, I am going to give Scion a call and see if they have any one that would be able to take a look at my car. Thanks again!

I am in a car club right now but they’re not going to very helpful because they live far away from me. I did ask them for some insight and most of them told me that the battery is the problem but it really isn’t. I’d like to solve this problem by myself.

Well, I can surely appreciated that -

There was a time when I could diagnose any problem with an automobile engine and fix it.

However, as they have come to be more complex, sometimes it's best to take it to a specialist for a fix.
