Detailing the engine it self?

Is there any way to remove the oxidation all over the engine and its accessorys? Or atleast make it look presentable, I tried a quick search and nothing came up that directly answered my question.

Generally speaking - don't blast the battery or alternator with water, and go ham with some degreaser/all-purpose cleaner.

I clean up my engine bay for the first time since after one year that i bought it. First i cover the battery and alternator with bags, then used Chemical guy's all purpose cleaner and soaked the engine bay with it. Then leave for a few minutes and use light pressure water and rinse it. Let is dry and then engine bay is dry, apply Chemical guy's silk shine dressing.

My engine bay after cleaning:

for the record Again i was referring to the engine not the engine bay... my car is boosted and my block is very exposed and I was tired of looking at corrosion.

I have the same question. I've seen some people say aluminum wheel cleaner works well...But I don't know how I feel about that. I have taken Mothers Metal Polish to my timing cover, alternator and other various bits and that definitely gets corrosion off nicely, but can't polish everywhere without having to start taking all sorts of parts off from the car which I'd like to avoid.

Use simple Green Aircraft Cleaner. It's safe for aluminum, rubber, plastics etc. Works great!

Clean Engine...

Helps when the core support and radiator are removed to get that block clean.
