Correct, what happened in the U.S. seems to be the result of a lot of people caught off guard by the first native case. What our systems, agencies, media, government, and public do from this point forward are truly what matter.

This scare is for people have nothing better to do. You know, the guy with the binoculars in the window?

Or the housewife on her iPhone 6 all day.

Ebola is an epidemic in 3rd world contries where they do not have the resources to contain and combat the disease.

Small pox could wipe out many countries in africa. Here in the states, we keep it in a fridge. "just in case".

The flu kills as many as 50,000 people per year right here in the U.S. All this is just sensationalism.

Most of the vocal people, for both sides of the argument, have little to no first or even second-hand experience with this. Just speculation based on what they read.

In this case it's not so much the disease but the process that should worry people. If they can barely handle a "minor" ebola issue what makes you think they can handle a deadlier disease on a larger scale?

It's like a fire alarm drill. People whine and complain and say they don't need it and it's a waste of time. Then sh*t hits the fan and everybody panics because they thought they were prepared.

For those above NOT taking this seriously: You are fooling yourselves!

This is going to get real serious real fast!

My predictions:
1 - If we have found 3 (possibly 5) cases in the US already there are 50 more that we dont know about

2 - I predicted on Monday - "By the end of the week we will have our first public school scare/lcokdown"

3 - By the end of the month we will have our first small town under Marshall Law.

What do we do when a small town is exposed and they refuse to enforce their own quarantine? Answer: National Guard roadblocks.

Mark my words.
FACT: Educated people are smart enough to know what to do.
FACT: MOST of the population of the US is NOT smart and does NOT act rationally in a panic.

I have already told my kids to not touch anyone, or share anything with anyone.
I have warned my HS age daughter that she needs to get ready to switch to home-schooling for the rest of the year.

Make sure your kids don't eat anything too! The food could have been touched by someone with the virus!

Tell them to cover their entire body as well. A fly with Ebola could land on them!

Calm the fuck down sir.

So Tell me what are the consequences of ME overreacting? - Nothing except for some inconvenience.
AND I have told my wife to not buy any fresh produce unless we intend to cook it (no salads for me).

Why dont you "rainbow & cheer" types tell US what the likely scenario is??

This will just some how magically get under control?

Keep in mind that trained healthcare workers took the normal precautions and THEY are infected.
What do you think will happen the first time a kid throws up in the school cafeteria and ends up having a fever? How many times did that happen across the US just today?

Not to mention that schools have differing absentee policies. A lot of times having a runny nose and sneezing occasionally is not enough to take a kid out of school. And same for adults at work. If you're part time and you don't get sick days, then hours not at work are hours you don't get paid. People go to work well past the point that they shouldn't even be getting out of bed, just because they don't have sick days or can't afford not to work.

Well I don't blame you for being concerned. BUT, with your attitude x millions of others with the same attitude, that's when it becomes CHAOS.

That's when people don't act in an orderly manner and start becoming psychos.
