If you don't go to a dyno, data-logging does the same thing basically.. you do some pulls on the street to redline (just as you would do pulls on a dyno) while recording your ECU readings (via a cable from your OBDII connector to your laptop). You send that to the tuner & they'll adjust your tune as needed based on your logs.

Edit: yea, basically wut moto-mike said. beat me to it..

You can get a header, ecutek license and tune from @FA20Club.com or @FT-86 SpeedFactory . Tune and license only from @Visconti and other tuners like moto-east. I have been running fa20club header for a few thousand miles without a tune and it runs fine, but am sure a tune would help squeak out more power. You don't have to make the full investment up front...

Ok I just checked Fa20club.com and looking at the maps they offer. I see they have stage 1, 2 and 3 maps. I'm assuming you have to use stage 1 first, then buy stage 2 next and stage 3 after? Is that how it works?

Stage one is all you really need. Its a selling gimmick in my opinion. Stage one from most places will cover bolt one. Stage 3 from them is for forced inducted applications.

A lot of this is explained in the ECU sticky at the top of this sub forum.

I did not realize it was the norm for tuners to help you update your tune after the initial purchase, so that makes sense. I'll probably pick up a tune first and get the exhaust later.

I just don't want to pester whomever provides the tune any more than I have to, I'm sure they have plenty of newbies like myself harassing them.

No it's not. And they don't have any "Stage 3" tune either.. it says "Additional tune #3", not 'Stage 3'.

For FA20club, they've got it set up for 2 different customers: Stage 1, those who have a 100% stock car.. and Stage 2, those who have modified cars.

And NO, you don't have to buy Stage 1 before Stage 2.. If you installed an intake or exhaust mod, simply buy the Stage 2 and be done with it. If you want an additional tune, like the E85 tune, that's where the "Additional tune #2" price comes in = it's only $98 more (well worth it IMO). If you buy a 3rd tune ("Additional tune #3), it's only $50 more.

Oh ok I understand so any after market product added you get stage 2 or tune 2 whatever it's called. I can only get octane 91 where I am so I won't need fhe E85 unfortanetly

Save up and do both at the same time so you don't need to retune if you get a tune first or run with air/fuel that off with just the header.

How about UNICHIP? Can you run a unichip with a header and get similar results to running the ecutek or a reflash tune? I would be concerned about voiding the warranty with the headers/tune.

I know the bungs are gonna be welded on already so i can still plug my o2 sensors just wondering how the car will react to this!!
