Full load you must apply to your engine if strength and longevity you wish to have. Max RPM from the start, in full retard mode, is the darkness of the ring-sealing force.

If you want max force, which is wanted to force the piston rings would you not want full hp/tq which would cause greater pressure in the cylinder.
I feel this argument is just going to break down just like this reddit post and say sorry. http://www.reddit.com/r/cars/comment...ferent/c84f34m |

All I can say is if there's visible crap in the oil at 20 miles, someone forgot to install the oil filter.
Some manufacturers advise against an early oil change when using full synthetics. The initial fill is considered necessary or at least optimal for break-in. And you will NOT wear out your clutch using the engine to brake (unless you downshift at unusually high RPMs many times or ride the clutch while doing so) and going down the hill using engine-breaking is good for helping to seat the rings. Just do it at normal RPMs. Common sense says a little of everything done in moderation. Even hitting the redline (as long as the oil is up to temperature) a few times during the first 1000 miles won't hurt and may actually help. And remember, there's millions of cars and trucks out there today with 150K original miles on them or more. Believe me when I say that probably 95% of their owners never paid any attention to break in or even knew that there was such a thing to worry about. Most of them never even looked at the owner's manual.
