So how many people?

How many people have actually had the windshield of their FRS or BRZ crack? Today I was driving home from work and heard the sound of a little rock hit the windshield. I didn't expect it to be a big crack at the top of my windshield when I got out but it was and after searching on the forum i've seen a good bit of others with the same problem.

I've had my windshield replaced already. Caught a rock right at the edge on the glass and it split halfway across the driver's side at eye level.

Pretty much this. You can't have a car this low used for did duty and not expect things like this.

Only a matter of time for me. So far I've gotten a chip. My daily commute covers some notoriously debris-filled interstate.

I've had no problems so far and I'm in a city notorious for cracked windshields. I've had more than a few hits but no damage yet thank god. My saturn sc2 was the same way. Got hit all the time but never had a chip or crack.

No problems so far, but I do worry sometimes being so low. Fortunately my insurance covers glass replacement with little deductible and no rate increase, so that eases my mind a little...lol

Man - these stories are just crazy and they don't make much sense either. The backward rake or our windscreen is pretty steep which should really help in negating the force of the impact (compared to say the near vertical windshield on a pick-up truck or something where you see cracks all the time).

I wonder if our glass is thinner compared to other vehicles to further save weight and as such more susceptible to cracks.

I've taken some serious hits to my last car's ws with barely a chip. I don't want to be buying new glass every few years.

Haven't had any issues at all with mine so far. Only windshield I've ever had to replace was in a Lotus which ran a cool 2 grand. I'm guessing the glass for this car is far cheaper.

I got three decent chips on the FR-S windshield within the first 2 months. My previous car got 2 chips in 6 years.

An cop passed me at roughly 90mph and put a crack in my windshield the first day I got the car. Its right dead smack in the middle of my eye line too, so one of these days ill be replacing it. Too many things I need to do still, so its a back-burner issue atm.
