Really good job. If you lived closed to me, I wouldn't hesitate to pay you to do the same for my car.

Any plans for your shift knob? After upgrading to all the JDM stuff, the OEM BRZ shift knob looks pretty bland. I don't like how there is no red stitching on it - seems like a lame cost cutting measure to allow commonality with Impreza shift knobs.

The OEM FR-S one is the same but adds the red stitching (one of the few areas where a stock FR-S is better equipped than a BRZ), and of course there's the TRD one which also has stitching and is a bit bigger, but is still OEM+ looking.

That poor push-start surround makes me wanna cry. It's all dinged up. I assume it's replaceable later when you have worn it to smithereens?

i've got something special coming from @Anarchy Motive

and i'm also planning on changing my push start button relatively soon, no it's not the red STi button, i've got a different idea.

actually, the surround itself isn't dinged up at all, what happened was i used the wrong paint to paint the chrome, i messed up and used flat black engine enamel….it doesn't want to stick to plastic. so i scraped it all off and it looks good as new.

once i get my new button i'll paint it properly this time.

@Jive Turkey

It turned out great, thanks for sharing the progress and build up. Very insightful. My only critique or comment (if you will,) The the holder to the right of the relocated push start. I assume this is for a phone/ipod or sorts. However in the photo's it rather looks unfinished with the alcantara being wrapped inside of the recessed pocket. It looks (to me) like is is missing a small black trim piece of plastic around the outside edge finishing it off. Something similar along the lines of the trim around the push start button.

2cents.

@Kiske i've actually been trying to think of something, but i got nothing.

the problem is everything is wrapped in ONE PIECE of alcantara, so being that the pocket goes so far in, its really impossible to stretch the fabric all the way into the pocket. i've been trying to figure it out, but i seriously can't think of anything to do because it all flows in and out.

and yes, that where i keep my phone.

i welcome, any and all opinions and ideas, so feel free to post, photoshop, link to other parts etc!

Not sure what kind of phone you have, but you could get something like this, and secure it into your pocket. would make it fit the phone snugly, and it would have a finished look.
Obviously, this is for the blackberry, but you get the idea.

Jive: you could take a mould of the pocket and then either make an insert out of fiberglass, carbon fiber, or CNC'd aluminum. Or you could pay someone to fab something up for you. a CNC'd aluminum piece may cost about $100

i actually ditched my S3 for an iPhone five because i couldn't stand the size anymore. the iPhone is a perfect fit in there.

i thought about that, however if it isn't perfectly flush and has a little lip, my OCD would drive me insane

i'm a bit weird HAHAHA
