This is very good advise. Though I have proven OCI with UOA at 5000 at 460whp e85 on amsoil dominator. I'm still debating whether or not to switch to retella and do alot more oil changes at 30$ or continue doing 100+$ oil changes with dominator though

If your car is turbo'd then Motul 300v all the way. It's exceptional oil with high shear resistance and good resistance to fuel dilution.

How would royal purple run with e85?
I've been using royal purple 0-20 for 28k+ miles and last 5k+ with phanthom esc without any issues
The car been running very strong
I recently found a e85 station by my house that's convient so I'm planning on trying it out for a little while
Gonna do a fresh change before I do go e85

Im on royal purple 0-20 with e85 on my vortech setup. From what iv read, should at least use HPS as opposed to the regular stuff... FWIW. My next oil change im switching to motul 300v or redline at stock weight.

Great read. Does anybody have any idea why, of all motor oils VWB-plain old Valvoline White Bottle-appears to combat fuel dilution surprisingly well? Something tells me I would use Amsoil OE 5W20, get a preferred customer rate, and change the oil often, under the conditions discussed herein.

Rotella T5 10W-30? Rotella T6 is very thick. IIRC, recent formulations of both Mobil1 and Castrol xW-30's are using less calcium and more magnesium (like Rotella uses). I wonder if this is to help meet the dexos spec and/or to help with E85?

Isn't T5 semi synthetic? I know a guy running 500+whp on T6 (i think) and he changes it constantly. Buys it in bulk ultra cheap. Like stupid did you forget a zero in the price cheap. He doesn't do UOA though.

Yes, but "synthetic" is just a marketing term anyway.

Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 0W20

Hi guys,
Just checked a local Motul distributor (Autobarn) in Melbourne, Australia and found they stock Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 0W20 oil. It appears they use this specific oil in NZ for servicing from Toyota. You can see it mentions it is E85 safe. You can see some stats in that NZ oil thread.

Problem in Australia is that it is $100AU for 5 Litres and they don't have 1 Litre bottles (although they are available in NZ). Too bad Subaru didn't design an engine for exactly 5L oil!

Any suggestions?

Havent seen any mention of ENEOS 0W20. I just bought some and was curious if I would be ok running E85 while using this oil?

Cant really find any info about this oil and E85 specifically.

Any input?

Sustina 0W20 is well liked by some, SN rated supposedly best equipped to deal with E85 use. The most common advice I have read re the use of E85 is to change oil out more often than usual.

Pretty much what I read but then you have people buying amsoil & motul 8100 which is like ~$100/oil change.

I think I'm going to give Mobil 1 0W-20 a try. I asked sportsguy83, he's a long time E85 user & thats what he uses. I'll just change every 3500 miles, there have been no failures yet on E85 afaik so thats a good sign. We already know from the WRX & STI that subie motors like the E85. Not to mention the fact that I'm sure many people are running E85 unaware that they're supposed to change oil more frequently.
