does the perrin catback with NO resonator drone at all?

thinking about going with perrin for my exhaust, catback will be as far as i go so i don't have to worry about passing inspection. wondering if i should go with the non resonated version or resonated. i've listened to clips of both and i like the way the non resonated sounds, i just don't want any drone or obnoxious sound from it if i'm just cruising.

If you plan on staying strictly catback, I would recommend the non resonated version. You will not experience drone and will have a great sound as well!

I've had the Perrin non-resonated CBE for awhile now and I can attest to the fact that this systme has NO drone at all. I've been on fairly long hwy jaunts and bumper to bumper traffic and pretty much everything in between. I highly recommend it. Also, as a side note, at first the system will sound a bit louder, but will settle in and get milder so don't get alarmed if it sounds louder at first.

I just put a resonated Perrin catback on my car and have a catted front pipe and over pipe waiting to go on too. Below 3500ish under load, I'm getting a LOT of drone, enough to to make stuff rattle. Have't had the chance yet to lift the car back up to check for leaks, really hoping there's just a leak and it'll quiet down once that's fixed.

I have no drone whatsoever on the Perrin non-resonated catback. And believe me, I know what drone is (I had the GReddy Evo 3 before this).

No rasp, no vibrations, nice quiet deep exhaust note at idle.

Something's wrong with your install. How much did your torque the bolts and the vbands? Make sure its not rubbing on anything? I thought I recall someone saying that they had some rubbing on the automatic transmission, but they were able to get rid of it.

No rubbing w/ the AT just some odd rattle that I'm working with Perrin to resolve. Even at that it comes and goes and is not TOO bad. It can only be heard/felt at a stop. Just to be fair, not all AT owners are experiencing this either, just a few.

thats kinda what i'm looking for. if i'm just cruising and driving slowly around town i don't want it too loud. but if i'm full throttle i def want to hear it.

in car just driving around town at low rpm's can you hear it?

At low RPM it's similar to stock, just a bit lower in frequency, IMHO. It's almost too quiet for me, but I guess I got used to a louder system.

idk about foobar, but its loud enough around town below 3rpm that you WILL draw alot of attention. whether people want to or not haha.

to be honest its loud enough that i get embarrassed to go over 3 rpm in the city. nice to have that kind of volume laying before your feet.

keep in mind i also have the front pipe w/o a cat which increases volume a bit.

Yep, that's definitely a factor. I plan to eventually get the perrin front/over but I'm keeping a cat. New York would rip me a new one every year otherwise, and I'm certainly not going to be reinstalling my stock system every inspection.

I'd like to hear how this catback is with the catted Perrin front/over pipes. I bet I would be real happy with that since I already got used to the GReddy Evo 3 volume which definitely can gather attention fast.
