FR-S Valued More Overseas???

Is this even likely?? Would some one in, say, Japan want the american version of the car more than the Japanese version?? Im only asking because i know everyone on this forum(for the life of still cant see what the big deal is) would perfer the "Toyota" badge.

In all Im asking if a person would value the Scion badge overseas seeing as it would be "more rare"?

People want what they can't have. I see it all the time in the VAG scene. They convert their euro spec cars to us spec cause it's something you don't see very often in europe.

Good to know. I may be getting stationed overseas (and the military ships your car for you free of charge) If i do go over, i may consider selling my FR-S and get my dream car while over there(R34 GT-R Skyline).

Everyone uses the "want what you dont have" excuse to explain why people want their Scions to be Toyotas. I think that there is more to it than that. Like a lot of people really don't like the Scion brand and many even considered getting the BRZ just to keep the Scion branding off their car, but still went for the FRS because they knew they could rebadge as toyota.

they won't ship one of those. only one they will ship is the R33 GTS-T, since that's the only liner that had safety testing done and the only one that it's legal to have here in the states. the 34s you see here are either brought in through canada, or from Motorex, when they were still operating. (i did some research after i got back from oki because i was curious. found out that the model i owned, was the one i could have brought back. was very pissed off at myself)

Some people just like to modify and personalize their car.
In USA Scion is a "youth" brand. Toyota is more of the "grown up car"

"Across the sea" Toyota have been the brand for boring cars in a long time.
Most people don't know what a "Scion" is. So looking at a new good looking sports car with an "exotic" Scion badge can be cooler for some than just having a Toyota badge, which represent cheap, reliable, boring cars for people who wants to go from a to b and are not into cars.
At least that is my explanation. Personally, I could not care less!

All your points have been noted. I was just curious on if it would be worth more overseas than in the US. I figured it would be because of the "ppl want what they cant have" thing. I for one dont really see whats so bad about the "Scion" badge. I consider the thing a Subie. The entire thing is built by Subaru.

I personally think the arguement is retarded, but i dont mind if anyone re-badges their car. It's THEIR car. Am i going to re-badge? No. mainly because i dont really care what ppl think, and also because i dont see the fuss about scion. It's Toyota's "sub-brand". It's like Honda and Acura.

Also, I dont plan on bringing the Skyline back, i just wanna be able to say I've owned it haha. If i get back to the states, im more than likely getting a nice sedan. BMW, maybe an Audi. I love my FR-S, and i'd keep it for forever, but i have this feeling that my life is gonna head down the road of marriage and kids in the near future LOL

i highly doubt it....i feel like you're aiming this towards me(correct me if i am wrong) but if u were, i was just stating the fact that all of the cars are made in a subaru plant.
