The guys insurance "the Hartford" will only cover 2700$ in damage because they want to install Chinese aftermarket crap so now the claim has to go through my insurance which means I'm out of the $500 deductible for months and my rates will go up.....no big deal it's just a car and all that

That's bullshit... I'd go after the other company to pay the deductible at the very least if that's how they are playing it with the whole insurance company going Dutch on the bill ...

Might be worth demanding more, I literally was reimbursed for everything up till my last service(taillight assembly - they were after market redouts, live plate lights LED only a couple bucks but eff that guy, tank of gas the groceries in the car) by the other guys insurance when she decided to use me instead of her brakes while she texted her husband. I basically just moaned until I got my way cause I was borrowing the Prius from work and didn't care cause they didn't need it back in a hurry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When my insurance sent out an adjuster he specified a new oem quarter panel new rim and 3 stage paint
The adjuster from the guy who hit me never came out to look at my car he looked at the estimate my guy provided and then said they would only cover an aftermarket quarter panel, used rim, and single stage paint :/ So now I have to have my insurance cover the work and then they will go after his to be rembursed....in the meantime I'm on the hook for the deductible and the rental (about $1500 so far) |
