My favorite YT channel. Thinking about oem+ audio plus now. I will be replacing my fujitsu ten head unit with a navi system next week.

Would this work with an aftermarket headunit?

I couldn't stand the lag of the stock touchscreen in my BRZ.

Yes @iggy

Completely compatible with your factory or aftermarket head unit (both in terms of installation and sound reproduction). We tune each of our sound solutions specifically to the output characteristics of your current head unit, so you experience our signature sound reproduction the moment you plug your O+ system in.

Wanting to upgrade your system prior to changing out your head unit? Not a problem! We have several owners who change out their head units (a few times) over the course of owning the system. It just a matter of having their O+ Digital Signal Processor retuned to maintain our signature sound.

The sound also changes when you have the visor up vs down... annoying.

After I got the upgrade I had one of those eureka moments where I thought, "so that's why they went with a 2-way in this car." And then, "too late now".

This is definitely not a knock on OEM. Their kit and support is top notch. Its just something to consider before anyone thinks more is better.
I have the "system" setup in my FRS and just installed the "reference" setup in my wife's FRS.

The door speakers in the "system" do more work than in the reference and it can pull the sound stage down and to the left with deep-voice vocals. (Chris Jones, long after you're gone)

With the reference setup, the dash speakers seem to handle a larger portion of the sound and bring the sound stage back up and do a better job of centering the (low-voice) image in front of me.

The speakers in the reference system also do a better job with delicate details that is hard to describe, but one of the more noticable instances is the harmonizing chorus in "on this train". On my sytem setup it sounds good, but on my wife's reference setup I can follow Zac Brown through the chourus. (I can pick his voice out more clearly)

Does your system work with Joying Android head units, and if I want to change head units later, how does that process go?

@Luftwaffel thanks for your questions. Yes! Our team has had extensive R&D time with the JOYING head unit and are just finalizing the EQ.

The Reference 450Q is completely compatible with the JOYING head unit both in terms of connectivity (completely plug and play with your factory connectors and applicable receiver adapter) and above all sound (our signature sound reproduction the moment plug you your system in).

If you decide to upgrade down the road, no problem. We'll just want to retune your O+ amplifier so your system maintains our signature sound reproduction with your new head units output characteristics. This is a service we offer gratis, we just ask you cover the cost of shipping if applicable.

This is great, thanks. I use my head unit for engine monitoring but it's kind of slow due to RAM limits so I'm waiting on a system with more grunt, but it's taking a while for anything new to come out. So, the Joying system is not quite finalized yet, from what I gather?

The JOYING EQ is ready when you are You'll just want to specify this radio selection ("Other") when personalizing your O+ sound solution - This allows our team to tune your system specifically for you.

Keep the questions coming.

What exactly is the "NEW 3-Way O+ Signature sound"? I've seen it mentioned repeatedly with no explanation of what it actually is.
