What looks good to you in a wheel?
So what aspects of wheel design appeals to you?
for instance 1 piece vs 2 or 3 piece? multiple thin spokes vs fewer, thicker spokes? lip or no lip? concave a must? straight spokes or curved spokes? etc... i'll start. my personal all time favorite wheel is the Volk SE37K what do i like about it? -multiple thin spokes -mesh style -straight spokes, no taper as you get closer to the rim -little lip -one piece, one color -defined center ring around the lug holes |

I love 5 spoke with splits in between each spoke, I also like them more with a lip as I think it looks more aggressive that way. A good example is the AM Forged Prime wheels.

It has to be round/true. 1 piece (lighter). Lightish. Right diameter and width for my needs.
That's probably where my concern with wheels ends.

I like one piece, with small lip or concave. As most cars have five bolts, I prefere 5 or 10 spoke design. SE37K look very good, but I'd consider them if they had center lock or 4 bolts. 8 spokes are not devidable by 5.

A picture is worth a thousand words…
Yes, I realize I am now flooding (if four separate threads constitute flooding) the forums with these wheels, but they are just SO damned SEXY… These are also very nice (and they DO come in black), but VERY expensive, about US$1,300/corner… Now, they ARE forged, and weigh about 5# less (per corner) than the Ultraleggera HLTs, but the Ultraleggeras are about US$650/corner… I REALLY like both wheels, but I prefer the equal spacing of the spokes in the forged wheels (stupid OCD)… Last edited by Boil; 12-29-2011 at 10:29 AM. |

Don't worry, I know how it feels to love rims.
They do look good indeed. The only thing is that I'd put these rims only on an Alfa Romeo. |

Perfect wheel for me would be two tone.. specifically gloss black or bronze with a POLISHED lip. NO CHROME.
favorite wheel of all time... Porsche Fuchs. Definitely would not look right on an FR-S or anything that's not a older Porsche or VW bug. I think that might be chrome but you get the idea i hope.. edit.. whoops, pic is gone. Last edited by DommerEOD; 12-29-2011 at 04:14 PM. |

Depends on the car (design). In my opinion, not all wheel designs look good on every car.

I always liked this wheel as well. Too bad they discontinued it years ago. RE30 is pretty similar, nice wheel too. However, due to the offsets this car is going to require. (hate the hellaflush bullshit) I think the TE won't look all that great in an 18" or 19" on this car personally. Here is Mag blue and F Zero blue TE37s. I have a set of 15" bronze TE37s on my DA. Love them in the smaller sizes. I think I will go with some Hi-Meta Bronze RE30s for my white BRZ or FRS with the flat Rays billet center cap (have them on my TE's). |

Bah. Multi-spoke wheels are over-rated. Go for the one-spoke wheel, or even the no-spoke wheel:

a good old' fashioned star wheel is my cup of tea, because its a basic clean yet attractive lookin design, but for some reason the NT03+M is one of my favorites
