FRS is off to Germany
So I'm apparently getting orders to Germany and the 10 series FRS is obviously coming, in order to terrorize the Audubon. I'm running a 2014 Monogram bespoke head unit with GPS. Question: can I get navigation in Europe, is there an update I need, or do I just auction the HU off?
The search tool didn't produce any results, so if any other Servicemembers know an answe, I'd greatly appreciate some insight. |

Try posting in the Europe section. Maybe one of those guys can help.

I imagine it would need some kind of map update just like a stand alone gps unit would, but it should still acquire the satellites and such.

I would ask the dealer, they should be able to help you, since you are military.

If you're looking for the "Audubon" you're going to be looking a very long time. It's the "autobahn".

Btw. Does anyone have actual info on whether European maps work on a U.S. FRS gps? Dealer is clueless. |

I would assume it be as simple as loading maps to the existing unit. You may have to visit the Toyota dealership (autohaus) in Germany.
Or maybe try to contact Toyota of North America on how to get Germany (European) maps. Toyota of North America Scion division: 1.866.707.2466 And for shits and giggles... Toyota Germany GmbH Tel: 02234-102-2690 |

I don't know about the twins, but for a BMW the maps can be deleted and loaded so I'd imagine it can be done. That said, just buy a portable. They're MILES better, much more updated, and most will have lifetime maps updates and traffic updates free. When I was there I liked the Navigon units the best.
