I met up with some friends to eat dinner, and when I was walking back to my car, we saw 4-5 kids (looked high school age) staring at my car. One of the kids was looking through my driver's side window. Then he walked around to the rear to look at my exhaust.

At first my friends and I thought they were trying to steal my car and I was ready to sprint over there, but they just seemed to be admiring it. I overheard them say they liked it or something like that, then they piled into a Camry and drove off.

This car still gets a lot of attention on the road.

I effing hate those types of tongue-in-cheek comments. I work with a religious whack-a-doo that seems to always have something snide to say to me-- he made the same type of comment "Wow. You must owe the bank a lot of money for THAT car."

My answer-- "I don't owe anyone any money. I buy what I can afford."

Jerk-store.

had a stunning lime green pearl porsche get next to me on 95 roll down his window and give me a big thumbs up (his passenger as well) and I dropped my jaw in my lap and returned the gesture.
It was glorious. we had a little "fun" before we parted ways.

It brought a tear to my eye like watching a sappy Clydesdale commercial during Super Bowl.

That's not street racing. It's called taking-off in style.

I had a middle-age guy come up to me at a gas station in my Evora and say, "nice wheels, what'd that set you back, 150 large?" I shook my head, motioned to his Mitsubishi SUV and said "not quite, how about yours?"

He looked offended that I asked.

Two more in the past week:

Driving down Rt. 80E I had a guy in a black TT-RS fly by me so I increased speed and dodged some light traffic with him. He slowed down, gave me a thumbs up and a smile, I did the same and then he down shifted and took off. The sound of that I5T is intoxicating!

Second one was 2 days later I was in heavy traffic on 80W this time and was next to a guy in a black V10 R8. He rolled down his window and said nice car with a thumbs up and that he was thinking of buying one as a weekend track toy. We talked a bit in the dead stop traffic until we hit his exit where he let me hear the new exhaust he got last week. Holy god I need a better paying job :-/

I've had a few people waving and turning heads. Even some people pacing next to me. I remember there was an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and this kid took a picture of my car...

My best encounter was when a father and a little kid came up to me when I was getting into my car. The kid asked for a picture with my car. The dad said to me "I love those Maseratis! How much was it worth? 200k?" and I told him it was not even half of what he said and it was a Toyota 86 GTS... He was clearly not paying attention to the badge.

And another one when this guy in a Ferrari F430 Scuderia rolled up next to me at the lights and said "Man I would trade in my Ferrari for that LFA any day"... then the light turned green and he tried to race me but I turned off.. hahaha.

When I'm parked in parking lots, people tend to make a point to walk up to the car and look. Had someone yell from the sidewalk yesterday "Nice Car!"

Only two so far.

The first was on my way out of work, I passed by a bunch of elementary-ish school kids who were just getting home. One of them yells out, "HEY, NICE CAR!"

The second was at one of those hella-forever-left turn lights and this crowd of people pull up in a Suburban. The passenger leans out of the window and chats me up about the FRS. "Man, that's a nice car" he says a few times during the conversation.

was outside of a corner store waiting for my friend to finish is cig, and an holder man walks out of the store (60+ yrs). As hes stepping into his car he calls and asks whos car it was. I told him it was mine and he said "very nice car you have here". Shes completely stock (minus the sharkfin), and still getting a tone of compliments. Love this car!
