I’ve never been lucky enough to drive one, but have an Alfa dealer right next door to work so looked at these 4C’s closely.

As you say... definitely not a DD, but they’re stunning cars!

You made the right choice getting one of these over that ToyoBMW sh*tshow that looks less promising every week.

I love 4Cs.

Agreed. What's amazing is these tubs are hand made. The tub probably costs more than the rest of the car. LOL

If you get a chance .... drive one. The car just oozes impracticality ... which is why I like it. The FR-S/86/BRZ has a much better dead pedal position. Mid-engine cars always seem to have an awkward dead pedal area.

I love 4Cs.
I just started to be really disillusioned with the Supra. They were taking too long milking the so-called excitement.

You made the right choice. It's an absolute feedback machine. Ignore the published numbers, they simply don't matter. The turbo isn't hidden, yes there is noticeable turbo lag and you hear everything. The transmission isn't seamless, yes it's not the quickest shifting but there's something visceral about it. Mine is modded and I drive it to work about 50% of the time.

I've done a EuroCompulsion v2 intake and phase 2 ECU swap with mine. Had a C6 Z06 owning autocross friend of mine take the car out for a few runs and his only feedback was "shit... this is fast."

I've also added front wishbone mounts from Alfaworks in the UK to alter caster in front to reduce the jumping/twitchiness on uneven roads and allow for more negative camber in front. Novitec coilovers, and 17x8.5 front / 18x9.5 rear Advan RS2s with 245/265 wide tires. The wider and sticky front tires add to the steering feel noticeably, I had the OEM 18x7s on for a week and forgot how light the feel was with the OEM narrow wheels.

Design of the tub. A manual was never intended nor considered and adding one would require a total redesign.

Manuals are great, I would buy one if they had made a manual 4C. However, I sincerely do not miss the third pedal in the 4C. That is not the case with PDK Porsches, DSG VW/AUDIs, or DCT BMWs - and I've driven plenty of all three to compare including an RS5, 2015 911 GT3, Cayman S, e92 m3 and my old 135i. The dual clutch gearbox in the 4C feels totally different.

It really is hard to explain, and it sounds cliche, but the car really is all about feel - otherwise I would have stuck with my original plan to buy a 2012 Cayman R.

Those were the launch edition cars, first 500 available in normal Red "Rosso Alfa", tri-coat metallic red "Rosso Competizione", and I believe, Madreperla (Mother of Pearl) White. They came with most of the options including track package and got a #/500 launch edition plaque in the center console.

It's the 2017+ optional OEM Akrapovic exhaust.

There are aftermarket exhausts that exit in the center as well, but this one is OEM.

Turbo lag to me is kind of a dealbreaker so I don't want one but hearing you say the transmission shifts rough makes me want to drive one, that sounds awesome. There's something neat about how all these new cars shift so smooth you can't feel it but it's also kind of eerie; a bit of a jolt from the car is old fashioned in a sort of good way.

Turbo lag is really overrated... just downshift. It's all part of the fun of working to keep the car in boost.
