no rings and no problems here. just star pattern the lugs like you're supposed to and you'll be fine.

Hub rings are by no means necessary.

They are convenient for the person who swaps your wheels.

They do not carry any load once the lug nuts are torqued to spec.

They support the wheel in place while you hand-place the lug nuts.

Would a 225/45/17 mpss be fine on these wheels? Or is it a bit stretched?

What's the driving feel like with such huge tires and wide rims? I feel like this setup looks amazing, but i'm worried that it will make the car feel heavy in regards to handling. True or false?

I'm just comparing, cause i wanted these in the SBC but they only make them in larger sizes, while i wanted more like 17x7.5 cause they are light and i can use 215/45/17 tires.

Here is a nice post I saw a few days ago, this pretty much answers your question:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...74&postcount=8

Not sure I can categorically agree with all yet
#1 for sure, I pretty much went up by +1L/100kms when I switched to wider setup. Partly because more fun, partly just physics.
#2 can not confirm, with the nameless axle back, I dont notice any difference in noise
#3 Slightly, feels that way. I think this can be influenced by your alignment too.
#4 Have yet to see
#5 Did not notice any difference in ride quality. I actually think because of the rubber, in some way its more pleasant.

One thing not mentioned, in my opinion, steering is a little bit heavier, its noticeable at first, for about the first hour, then you get used to it.

I'm talking here about lightweight 17x9 setup with 245 tire. Going 18 + wider tire the effects will probably be even more noticeable. One thing to keep in mind is your alignment to manage the poke, you will need at least 1.25-1.5 degrees of camber up front to make it look reasonable. Rear At 1-1.25 looks good too.

Don't worry too much about making it worse, its a blast with better tires, plus it looks good too, I think 17x9+35 or so is a great balance for looks and performance.
Go out to the meets, maybe someone can let you drive their car with similar setup to get a feel, you can hop back in your car and immediately compare.

Having trouble finding the answer to this. (Did search but was confused)

I'm planning on going with these 17x9 RPF1's with 235 tires. Will they clear on a 100% stock BRZ suspension setup? Do I need a different offset to make it work?

17x9 +35 RPF1
245/40/17 Dunlop Direzza Z2
-3.5 Camber Front
-3 Camber Rear
This makes me want to lower more and get that camber dialed in. Looks perfect

I'm running 17x9 +35
But only -1.4 front
And -1 back

How does that setup handle?

Pretty well. I track pretty often so this was the track mechanic recommended because I kept rolling my tire in long sweeper/carousel type turns. I have also a slight toe out on all wheels. (Better rotations) [Track stuff]

I did -2 for a good awhile. It's flush with the fender.
