Peachstate PCA (Porsche Club of America) at Atlanta Motorsport Park April 27-28 (Driver's Ed)

Registrar Hal.Lattimore@Yahoo.com / 770-349-9517
Registration (http://www.clubregistration.net)
Opens 03/16/13 12:01 AM (members) (central time zone)
03/16/13 (all)
04/20/13 (closes) (12:01am central time zone)

Description:
Join Peachstate PCA on April 27-28 at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, GA. This new 2-mile circuit features multiple elevation changes and high speed straights. Combined with signature corners, that compliment famed European race courses, it makes this circuit a technical masterpiece.

The event will comprise two instructed groups and two solo groups. Run groups will be smaller than those at our other events due to the smaller track length. Don't delay, the event will sell out quickly.

PLEASE NOTE!! AMP has a strict noise limitation of 98 dB. Each car will be checked at registration for compliance. Keep in mind that cars under load, and rain and humidity, affect sound levels. Cars will be checked on an ongoing basis throughout the weekend. You will be flagged if your vehicle exceeds the limit. Don't even consider running with wide open pipes.

There are several aftermarket solutions available to help with sound compliance. Balanced Performance is located on site at AMP and can assist with sound reduction.

Also note the support infrastructure around the track is still under construction and changes week to week. Paddock space could be limited.

There is not a PA system at the AMP facility so announcements will be broadcast over a local FM radio station.

Spots in each run group will be reserved based on payment date. PCA members will also be give preference if a sold out condition exists.

See you at AMP!

Got to race in the snow with NASA Mid South at Memphis International Raceway this weekend. They have 3 more Memphis events this year. It really is a nice little track.

The only way I know of is NASA's Hyperdrive program for $75. Only a few spots so you have to be on top of it.

I haven't heard that was much fun though?

Annual Santa run event is less than $100.

It's the same as their HPDE-1 program but with less time. I think you get all the classroom stuff and a 30min session. You run with their novice group. You're not going to get a full track day with any group for under $250, in most cases $300+.

Agreed. I heard it was shorter than 30, but that may have been a different region of NASA.

Cool. I'm waiting for his sunday pics still before I decide if I want to buy pics or not He has more angles of your car, not much variety for mine from Saturday at least.

Hey FT-86'ers! Just bought my FR-S last month and am starting the track prep to take her out on her maiden voyage. Got me thinking about the possibility of organizing a Car Club day at a Florida track (ie. Sebring likely or PBIR/Homestead depending on regional preference), very similar to what the Mustang/Vette/Lotus guys do at Sebring once or twice a year. The average cost for Sebring is about 10-11K, including EMS support for a weekend (one day).

What do you guys think? How many cars in the club would be willing to make it a strong BR-Z/FR-S showing? At between $300-$400 each, I'm guessing at least 30+ cars (going by SAFE's minimum run numbers).

On a continued note, we could do something like the NoCal guys and start a Florida time trial, non-competition series...
