They already have with Brian’s R35 GTR. They just threw in 7 shots of him slapping the transmission selector around

Lmao yeah they did the same with the Demon and I think the two chargers they used to steal the vault were also autos. Guess they’ll just use the transmission selector instead of the paddles haha They tried paddles in Hobbs and Shaw in the McLaren and it was pretty funny

I have now seen 4 Supra in person. Taste in styling are subjective but I feel the car is overdone almost to the extent of the Civic Type R. Sorry Toyota, I much prefer the classy appearance of the 86.

Not sure how the 86/BRZ is any classier, to be honest. We already get plenty of people calling our cars rice or saying they're for younger people, etc.

It's definitely subjective though. I personally consider my car one for more mature people, even if tons of younger people have them in my area.

I think it would only need a new front bumper and a small, classy wing to look ideal.

It isn't really overdone at all, especially compared to other cars, even ones higher than its class. If the Supra is overdone then the STI, the Corvette, the Alfa Romero 4C, the Lotus', etc are overdone, or perhaps the Ford GT, the Ferraris, the Paganis, etc are very overdone. Even sports sedans like the M2/M4 have much more aggressive bodies than their classic counterparts, which in the past, it was hard to know the difference between a 330i and an E46 M3. This was deemed classier, as a gentleman's sports sedan needed to not look gimmicky or flashy, but times change. The Type R looks like a Civic decided to dress up as a
Samurai, and we have a plain/base Civic to draw that comparison, but the Supra just looks like a typical, modern, sports car to me.

This.

Organic shapes, fake vents, swooping lines and unpredictable angles are style queues for all cars now. Even the lowly Prius looks like some sort of wild animal now. Just the way it is and people need to get used to it or wait it out until styling swings the other way and we end up with square boxes like the 80s again.

God, no please anything but that.

I think (thanks to Tesla primarily) we are going to see it start to swing back to bland styling though. All the press in enamored with the "understatement" of the Teslas, particularly the 3. No thanks.

Just saw one in person on the freeway. Won't really count it since it was a corporate car on the way back to HQ. It's loud for being a stock car. Definitely looks better in person.

Modern styling tends to be simplified. This has roots further back than Tesla. How far back isn’t worth debating, but many concept cars have this ethos, as well as, Apple products and Scandinavian furniture.

For Tesla, they could do fake vents like other cars, but it’s even more contrived on an electric car that has no need for a front grill or other vents. Green cars have always tried to diversify themselves from regular cars because it is believed or known that the buyers of green cars like to advertise their eco friendly purchases. Tesla has adopted the “simple is better”, iPhone-like ethos because tech is all about that. I see BMW’s electric cars and Honda’s electric concepts following suit, but Audi and Porsche are not diverting from their design language, and when electric reaches mass adoption, there will be plenty of electric cars that look “normal” too.
