I'm down as well. But likewise, it needs to be early. I have things I have to do that day.

If your morning is typically later, we could always meet at the Santana Row meet first and then hang out till you roll around. I definitely need to wash my car and get a haircut on Sat. I need to be a respectable person.

We meet at the Chevron in Oakdale (along Yosemite Ave, south of the 108/120 intersection.) Plans are to head up to Murphy's along HWY 4, up to Alpine lake and then over to Minden, NV. I will hang along with them up until lunch time. If you'd like, the group (consists mainly of older enthusiasts with classic Datsuns, but other cars have attended in the past) have a pot-luck style lunch; bring a dish, your own plates/drinks/utensils, and have at the feast. Or, we can just turn around and head back to the Valley, usually taking a different route, if possible. Lunch in Murphy's or Arnold (great brew pub/pizza joint there)

Just wanted to put this out there. Meet up at the Oakdale Chevron between 8:30/leave promptly at 9:00, this Saturday Sept 14.

There is some talk about going up 120 to Yosemite (IIRC, the road is open again) through Yosemite over Tioga pass and lunch in Lee Vining. I would prefer HWY 4, but I am flexible. Yosemite requires $20 entrance free.

Way laid back group, good times.

hmmm......it's a maybe. If I'm getting it correctly the chevon I'm looking at is 1hr and 30 minutes away from my place and what's the half way point of lunch? 3hrs to get to Yosemite wooo.

let me know if you guys iron out a game plan for Sat, and I'll add it to the events calendar and help get the word out. Not 100% sure I can join up but maybe down to visit C&C at Santana in the morning.

Usually the turn around/lunch point is at the top of the pass, Alpine Lake or somewhere close on HWY 4. I may not even make it that far, I also have to be home by mid-afternoon.

Ok here is my plan for tomorrow, anyone or no one can join, I will still be going.

I will be leaving the Livermore area around 0930 and heading to the peninsula. I will be taking 92----> 280 South----> 84 West-----> 35 South---> 9 to Santa Cruz (probably lunch)---> 1 North---->84 East----> 35 North---->92 East and done.

Its a big figure 8. The route may change while driving too. This route is more of sweeping turns and will be an enjoyable pace, nothing to crazy.

Again anyone can join, just name a meeting spot.

Hey Eric, I'm totally down for this!

What time do you think we'll be back in the valley if we return back after lunch/halfpoint?

Rick

We can bug out anytime. I would say that we could be back into Oakdale/Modesto by 2-3, its not a problem to turn around and find a slightly different way to be safe on the return time! Im not too hooked up to this site when I am mobile, so I hope to see you there!

Great time with the old Datsun Roadsters today!

@crouchingpinoy and I met up in Oakdale this morning for what turned out to be an all day adventure of foothill/Sierra roads, great potluck food, and classic car repair!

Overlooking the Roadster from as far as Lake County to Lemoore.

We had a great time running along the Woodward Res and then up the hill along hwy 4 to Angels Camp. Halfway to Murphy's, my Roadster friend Jeff had a flat which turned out to be a quarter inch hole puncture in the middle of the tread! It was hidden perfectly when stopped so, it took a while to find, and after Rick whipped out his FR-S scissor jack, we switched out the drive tires to same diameter and fitted a spare from another roadster.

Up through the Big Trees area and Bear Valley, we stopped at the eastern side of Alpine Lake for a bring along potluck.

I hadn't really planned to eat with the crew, and didn't bring much/anything to eat, but Rick and I earned enough 'good scout' points to get fed with wonderful home cooked goodies and then boogied home after our good-byes.

The roadster owners couldn't get enough of the FR-S cars, and most wanted one as soon as they saw it!
